Channel 4
Channel 4 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation. It is state-owned enterprise, publicly owned but, unlike the BBC, it receives no public funding and is funded entirely by its commercial activities, including Television advertisement, advertising. It began its transmission in 1982 and was established to provide a fourth television service in the United Kingdom. At the time, the only other channels were the television licence, licence-funded BBC1 and BBC2, and a single commercial broadcasting network, ITV (TV network), ITV. Sky Showcase
Sky Showcase is a British pay television channel which launched on 1 September 2021. It is owned and operated by Sky Group, a division of American media company Comcast. Sky Showcase was announced on 28 July 2021, along with Sky Max, as a replacement for flagship brand Sky One; with its programming transferred to Max and Sky Comedy. Both Showcase and Max would launch on the same day. The channel broadcasts a selection of programmes and simulcasts from across Sky UK's portfolio of channels, including highlights from Sky Cinema, Sky News, and Sky Sports. Cork Community Television (CCTv) is a community access television station on Virgin Media Ireland channel 803, broadcasting programmes made by, about and for Cork communities. History It launched on 28 May 2009, with the intention to "broadcast for one to two hours daily" in its first year of operation. Cork Community TV assists members and member organisations to secure funding from the Sound and Vision "Community in a Studio" fund, which is generated from the TV licence fee and administered by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI). The Oireachtas ( ; ), sometimes referred to as Oireachtas Éireann, is the Bicameralism, bicameral parliament of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Houses Of The Oireachtas Channel
Oireachtas TV, formally the Houses of the Oireachtas Channel (), is a public service broadcaster for the two houses of the Oireachtas (Irish parliament). The channel was created under the Broadcasting Act 2009 for broadcast on the proposed roll out of Irish Digital Terrestrial Television. The channel broadcasts in the Irish and English languages. Cúla4
Cúla4 () is an Irish-language programming block and standalone television channel operated by TG4 for Irish-speaking children in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The channel broadcasts free-to-air from 6am to 7:54pm, timesharing with TG4 +1, which starts at 8pm. History The strand was first established in 1996 as Cúlabúla along with the rebrand of TnaG to TG4. In 1999, Cúlabúla was renamed Cúla4. On 1 September 2009, Cúla4 was added as a separate channel to UPC customers on channel 602. A new schedule coincided with the launch on UPC. RTÉjr
RTÉjr is an Irish free-to-air children's television channel operated by state-owned broadcaster RTÉ. The channel mainly targets a demographic of 2- to 7-year-olds, but some cartoons for older children also air. The channel is part of RTÉ KIDS. The channel broadcasts 12 hours of programming each day between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. It is supported by radio station RTÉjr Radio and additional services available on-demand, on mobile and online.
