The following is a list of characters that first appeared on the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'' in 2009, by first appearance. Hayley Ramsey Natty Natty, played by former ''Emmerdale'' actor Danny Tennant, made his first on-screen appearance on 2 February 2009. Tennant originally auditioned for another role, but producers asked him to audition for the role of Natty in which he was successful. On 31 March 2009, Natty invited his friend Daniel Raven to meet Ste. The two also became friends. In May, Natty revealed he had a son whom he gave up because he could not cope. Daniel, Natty and Abi Raven run a charity called 'Kidz with Kidz', they set it up for young teenagers who are struggling parenthood. Any parents that they feel are struggling, the charity will take the baby and give it to a better home. Andrew Moss
Andrew Moss (born 1 June 1984) is an English actor. He is known for portraying the role of Rhys Ashworth in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'' from 2005 to 2014. He also appeared in the BBC soap opera ''Doctors'' as Paul Cuthbert. On stage, he played the role of Sam Wheat in the National tour of ''Ghost the Musical''. Rhys Ashworth
Rhys Ashworth is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Andrew Moss. He made his first on-screen appearance in September 2005. Rhys was killed off in the Enjoy The Ride storyline in an episode airing on 15 November 2012 and the character departed on 16 November 2012. Rhys made a return on 27 June 2014 as part of his ex-girlfriend Cindy Cunningham's (Stephanie Waring) storyline about her bipolar disorder. Louie Anne Batley (born 9 June 1987) is a British actress, singer, and dancer. She is best known for her role as Sarah Barnes in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks''. Barry Newton
Barry "Newt" Newton is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Nico Mirallegro. He debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 22 October 2007. He was introduced as the serial's first emo character and as the foster son of Jack Osborne, Jack (Jimmy McKenna) and Frankie Osborne (Helen Pearson). During the character's duration he was involved in notable storylines including schizophrenia, a suicide pact and living in foster care. In 2010, Mirallegro quit the serial to pursue other projects. Gilly Roach
Gilly Roach is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Anthony Quinlan. The character first appeared on-screen during the episode broadcast on 6 October 2005. Gilly was created in 2005 by executive producer David Hanson. Gilly has often been portrayed as a push-over and has a double act partnership with fellow character Rhys Ashworth. Cindy Cunningham (also Savage, Longford and Hutchinson) is a fictional character from the British soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Stephanie Waring. She made her first on-screen appearance on 13 November 1995, originally played by Laura Crossley, as the youngest daughter of Gordon (Bernard Latham) and Angela Cunningham (Liz Stooke).
