List Of Ghana Parliament Constituencies
This is a list of the 276 constituencies in Ghana that will be contested in the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana from December 2024. There were 275 constituencies at the time of the 2020 Ghanaian general election. One more constituency, Guan, was added in 2023 and was contested for the first time in the 2024 Ghanaian general election. The number of constituencies has increased from 260 at the previous election held in December 2012 parliamentary election. Each constituency is represented by a single member of parliament (MP). There were 230 parliamentary constituencies previously. History At the time Ghana became an independent country, there were 104 seats in parliament. This increased to 198 after 1965, when Ghana became a one-party state. With the start of the Second Republic in 1969, the number of seats was increased to 140. The Parliament of Ghana is the unicameral legislature of Ghana. It consists of 276 members, who are elected for four-year terms in single-seat Electoral district, constituencies using a first-past-the-post voting system. Northern Region, Ghana
The Northern Region is one of the sixteen regions of Ghana. It is situated in the northern part of the country and ranks as the second largest of the sixteen regions. Before its division, it covered an area of 25,000 square kilometres, representing 10 percent of Ghana's area. Asunafo North (Ghana Parliament Constituency)
Asunafo North is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana and also one of the six constituencies in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Evans Opoku Bobie was voted and elected in the 2020 general election as the Member of Parliament for the constituency form the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Winning the election with a total of 34,684 votes (52.21%) of the total votes cast beating his rival Mohammed Haruna of the National Democratic Party (NDC). The constituency is seen as one of the stronghold for the New Patroitic Party where they have won the last five general election held in the country. However, in the 2024 Ghanaian general election, Mohammed Haruna of the National Democratic Congress (Ghana) won the elections with 34,083 votes beating New Patriotic Party's Evans Bobie Opoku who polled 25,101 votes. Goaso
Goaso is a city and the capital of the Asunafo North Municipal and the Ahafo Region of Ghana. It has population of 21,146 according to the 2010 census. The town is run by a traditional council, with Nana Akwasi Bosompra I having the title of Omanhene. History According to oral traditions, Goaso (then known as Goaso Krodadaamu) was originally settled near Goa River. Due to occurring issues living near the river, the residents resettled uphill to the town's current location. Economy Agriculture dominates most of the town's economy, with it employing about 60% of the population. Some cash crops grown include cocoa, cassavas, maize, and plantains. Health The only major hospital in Goaso is the Ahafo Regional Hospital, which serves the entire region. Asunafo North Municipal District is one of the six districts in Ahafo Region, Ghana. It was formerly part of the then-larger Asunafo District from 1988 until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 12 November 2003 (effectively 17 February 2004) to become Asunafo South District. Brong-Ahafo Region
The Brong-Ahafo region was a region in central Ghana. Brong-Ahafo was bordered to the north by the Black Volta river and to the east by the Lake Volta, and to the south by the Ashanti, Eastern and Western regions. The capital of Brong-Ahafo is Sunyani. Brong-Ahafo was created on 14 April 1959 from the then Western Ashanti and named after the main ethnic groups, the Brong and Ahafo. Western North Region
The Western North region is one of the six new regions of Ghana created in 2019. The region is bounded by the Ivory Coast ( Comoé District) on the west, the Central region in the southeast, and the Ashanti, Ahafo, Bono East and Bono regions in the north. Western Region, Ghana

Volta Region
Volta Region (or Volta) is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Upper West Region
The Upper West Region of Ghana is located in the north-western corner of Ghana and is bordered by Upper East Region to the east, Northern Region (Ghana), Northern Region to the south, and Burkina Faso to the west and north.
