The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the British soap opera ''Emmerdale'' in 2004, by order of first appearance. All characters were introduced by the soap's executive producer, Keith Richardson. Val Pollard Carl King Jimmy King Tom King Noah Dingle Noah Dingle (also Tate, Sharma, and Macey) is the son of Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Chris Tate (Peter Amory). He appeared from March 2004 to 2005, and returned in October 2009 along with Charity. Noah is born while Charity was serving a life sentence for Chris' murder, even though Chris had actually committed suicide. Noah's paternity was doubtful as Charity had recently slept with her cousins, Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), as well as Chris, but DNA tests confirm that Noah is Chris' son. Liam Hammond
The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the British soap opera ''Emmerdale'' in 1999, by order of first appearance. Pete Collins Peter "Pete" Collins, played by Kirk Smith, is known in the village as the lorry driver that crashed into the bus containing Emmerdale residents on the village's main street in 2000. The accident severely injures Butch Dingle and he later died in hospital. Pete is also killed in the accident. Ezra Dingle Ezra Dingle is Zak Dingle's (Steve Halliwell) brother. He first appeared in March 1999, alongside his wife, Gwen Dingle, their two children and their dog in an ice-cream van when they arrived at ''Wishing Well Cottage'' for the christening of Zak and Lisa Dingle's ( Jane Cox) daughter Belle Dingle. Marlon Dingle
Marlon Dingle is a fictional character from the British television soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Mark Charnock. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 17 October 1996. Following the departure of Zak Dingle ( Steve Halliwell), Marlon currently serves as the second longest-running character featuring in the programme, surpassed only by Eric Pollard ( Chris Chittell). For his portrayal of Marlon, Charnock won the British Soap Award for Outstanding Achievement at the 2023 British Soap Awards.
