The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' in 1994, by order of first appearance. Natalie Evans Natalie Evans (also Price) is played by Lucy Speed between 1994 and 2004. Natalie first appears in January 1994, depicted initially as an unhappy, insecure teenager; she was among various regular characters brought in to increase the cast following the BBC's decision to increase episode output to 3 per week. She features most often with the characters Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen) and Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer); Natalie's affair with Ricky ending his relationship with Bianca was one of the prominent storylines aired in the Winter of 1995. Despite producers offering to extend Speed's contract, she opted to leave the serial in 1995. Deepak Verma
Deepak Verma MBE (born 11 February 1969) is a British actor, writer and television/film producer of Indian Punjabi descent and Hindu heritage. His role as market-stall trader Sanjay Kapoor in long-running BBC One soap opera ''EastEnders'' brought him to the attention of UK mainstream viewers. Career Verma trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He made his television debut in the Scottish detective series ''Taggart'' in 1992. However, he is best known for his portrayal of the adulterous gambler Sanjay Kapoor in the popular BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' (1993–1998). During his time on the show, Verma's character was central to many explosive storylines, including the breakdown of his marriage to Gita ( Shobu Kapoor), caused by his extramarital affair with her sister, as well as being falsely accused of her suspected murder. Grant Mitchell (EastEnders)
Grant Mitchell is a fictional character from the United Kingdom, British soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Ross Kemp. He was introduced by executive producer Michael Ferguson (director), Michael Ferguson to revamp the show, and originally served as one of the show's protagonists throughout the 1990s, with the character first appearing in 22 February 1990 and then departing on 25 October 1999 after Kemp had opted to leave the show. He then returned to the show on 24 October 2005 for a few weeks and returned again between March and June 2006. Kemp was persuaded to return to the role for brief stints during a period of heavy media criticism aimed at ''EastEnders''. The return proved to be a ratings success. Ibiza

Walford is a fictional borough of East London in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. It is the primary setting for the soap. ''EastEnders'' is filmed at Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, towards the north-west of London. Much of the location work is filmed in nearby Watford, which was chosen for many of the exterior scenes due to its close proximity and the town's name being so similar to Walford. Thus, any stray road signs or advertising boards which are accidentally filmed in the back of shots will appear to read Walford. Locations used in Watford include most interior and exterior church scenes of various churches, the snooker club, the County Court and Magistrates' Courts courtrooms, and the cemetery (where most of the deceased characters are interred). Mark Monero
Mark Marcel Monero is a British actor and musician. He is best known for his role as Steve Elliot in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' (1991–96), but he has appeared in many other television and theatre roles, and had parts in a number of films, including ''Prayer for the Dying'' and ''Sid and Nancy''. Steve Elliot
Steve Elliot is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Mark Monero between 8 October 1991 and 12 February 1996. Creation and development Steve Elliot was the second of only two regular characters to be introduced into ''EastEnders'' in 1991, the other was Rachel Kominski ( Jacquetta May).
