Dublin Institute Of Technology
Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT, ) was a major third-level institution in Dublin, Ireland. On 1 January 2019 DIT was dissolved and its functions were transferred to the Technological University Dublin, as TU Dublin City Campus. The institution began with the establishment of the first technical education institution in Ireland, in 1887, and progressed through various legal and governance models, culminating in autonomy under a statute of 1992. DIT was recognised particularly for degree programmes in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Science, Marketing, Hospitality, Music, Optometry, Pharmaceuticals, Construction, Digital Media and Journalism. Arthur Mathews (writer)
Arthur Mathews is an Irish comedy writer and actor who, often with writing partners such as Graham Linehan, Paul Woodfull and Matt Berry, has either written or contributed to television comedies, such as ''Father Ted, Big Train,'' and '' Toast of London'' and '' Harry Enfield and Chums''. Early life Mathews attended Castleknock College, a private school run by Vincentian priests. He then graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with a degree in graphic design. He played drums in spoof U2 tribute act "The Joshua Trio" with Paul Woodfull, with whom he would later work on '' I, Keano''. He worked as art editor for ''Hot Press'', leaving in 1991 to move to London. Adrian Martin is an Irish chef and author from Cavan. He is the owner and head chef of Wildflower Restaurant, formerly of Camden in London, and as of 2025, in Blackrock Market, Dublin. Early life and education Martin is from Cavan. His father John is involved in the food industry, running an event management company which sets up cookery demonstrations and food festivals. Bobby Kerr (businessman)
Bobby Kerr is an Irish entrepreneur and businessman. He was the chairman of Insomnia Coffee Company. In 2009, he was a "dragon" on the Irish version of ''Dragons' Den'', produced by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). Career Kerr's first job was in 1981 as chef/trainee manager in AIB Catering Ballsbridge. For two years he worked at the North Sea oil rigs, before working for Versa Food Services in Canada in 1984. While in Canada, Kerr held Assistant Catering Manager positions in the CNE Stadium Toronto, Ottawa Civic Centre, Crystal Beach Park and African Lion Safari and coordinated the catering for Pope John Paul II's visit to Canada in 1985 for one million people. Alan Joseph Joyce (born 30 June 1966) is an Irish-Australian businessman. He was the chief executive officer (CEO) of Qantas Airways Limited from 2008 until his resignation on September 5, 2023. Ronan Moore is an Irish politician and school teacher, and the author of a number of books with a focus on quirks of Irish culture. Personal life Moore was born in, and his family comes from, Trim, County Meath. As of 2015, he lives with his wife Frances Haworth, and three children. He received a degree in English and History from NUI Galway followed by a Masters in Sustainable Development from Dublin Institute of Technology. Career He has worked with Trócaire in Nigeria.
