Minister Of Defence (Denmark)
The Minister of Defence of Denmark ( da, Forsvarsminister, ) is the politically appointed head of the Danish Ministry of Defence. The Minister of Defence is responsible for the Danish armed forces, the Danish Defence Intelligence Service and the Danish Emergency Management Agency. The Minister of Defence follows the directions given by the Prime Minister of Denmark and the decisions of the Folketing. The Danish Defence Law ( da, Forsvarsloven) designates in article 9 the Minister of Defence as the supreme authority in Defence ( da, højeste ansvarlige myndighed for forsvaret). Thorvald Stauning
Thorvald August Marinus Stauning (; 26 October 1873 in Copenhagen – 3 May 1942) was the first social democratic Prime Minister of Denmark. He served as Prime Minister from 1924 to 1926 and again from 1929 until his death in 1942. Under Stauning's leadership, Denmark, like the other Western European countries, developed a social welfare state, and though many of his ambitions for Social Democracy were ultimately thwarted in his lifetime by events beyond his control, his leadership through grave times places Stauning among the most admired of twentieth-century Danish statesmen. Hans Peter Hansen (politician)
Hans Peter Hansen (1872–1953) was a Danish journalist and politician. He held various posts, including minister of defense and minister of finance. He was a member of the Social Democrats which he represented at the Parliament between 1913 and 1945. Biography Hansen was born on 6 October 1872. He was a journalist by profession and worked in the social democrat papers based in Funen, Midtsjælland and Zealand. From 1894 he became a congress member of the Social Democrats and between 1906 and 1915 he was part of its main board. He was elected to the Parliament in 1913 where he served until 1945 when he resigned from the post. He became mayor of Slagelse in 1917 and was in office until 1927. On 24 October 1932 he was named as the minister of defense and served in the post for six months until April 1933.
