The Confederation of African Football, or CAF for short (french: link=yes, Confédération Africaine de Football, ar, link=yes, الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم, al-Ittiḥād al-Afrīqī li-Kurat al-Qadam), is the administrative and controlling body for association football, futsal and beach soccer in Africa. It was established on 8 February 1957 at the ''Grand Hotel'' in Khartoum, Sudan by the national football associations of Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa and Sudan, following formal discussions between the aforementioned associations at the FIFA Congress held on 7 June 1956 at Avenida Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. The African Cup of Champions Clubs 1972 was the 8th edition of the annual international club football competition held in the CAF region (Africa), the African Cup of Champions Clubs. It determined that year's club champion of association football in Africa. The tournament was played by 26 teams and used a knock-out format with ties played home and away. Hafia FC from Guinea won the final, becoming CAF club champion for the first time and the first Guinean team to win the trophy. First round 1 Al-Merrikh withdrew. 2 Abaluhya United withdrew. MC Algiers
Mouloudia Club d'Alger ( ar, نادي مولودية الجزائر), referred to as MC Alger or MCA for short, is an Algerian football club based in Algiers. The club was founded in 1921 and its colours are red, green and white. Their home stadium, the Stade 5 Juillet 1962, has a capacity of 65,000 spectators. Petre Moldoveanu (24 June 1925 – 2005) was a Romanian footballer and manager. On 21 November 1948 he played in the first ever CSCA București – Dinamo București derby. He scored the first goal in the 2–1 victory against CSU Cluj in the 1949 Cupa României final, which helped CCA București win the first Cupa României in the club's history. Cicerone Manolache (born 16 May 1936) is a Romanian former footballer and manager who played as a forward and made four appearances for the Romania national team. International career Manolache made his debut for Romania's Olympic team on 25 November 1962 in a 1964 European Nations' Cup qualifying match against Spain, in which he scored Romania's second goal in a 3–1 win.
