The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston. The Bruins compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division (NHL), Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. The team has been in existence since 1924–25 NHL season, 1924, making them the National Hockey League all-time results, third-oldest active team in the NHL, and the oldest in the United States. The Bruins are one of the "Original Six" NHL teams, along with the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. They have won six Stanley Cup championships, tied for fourth-most of any team with the Blackhawks (trailing the Canadiens, Maple Leafs, and Red Wings, with 24, 13, and 11, respectively), and tied for second-most for an NHL team based in the United States. 2022–23 Boston Bruins Season
The 2022–23 Boston Bruins season was the 99th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. In the offseason, the organization fired Bruce Cassidy, the team's head coach for the previous six seasons, and replaced him with Jim Montgomery. The season also saw the return of long-time Bruin David Krejci, who spent the previous season playing in the Czech Extraliga. The Bruins acquired players such as Pavel Zacha, via trade, and Tomas Nosek, via free agency, during the offseason, while also making trades for Dmitry Orlov, Garnet Hathaway, and Tyler Bertuzzi near the mid-season trade deadline to bolster their roster. Guerin Elizabeth Austin ( ; born November 30, 1980) is a television host, model and beauty queen from Bellevue, Nebraska, who has competed in the Miss USA pageant. From 2014 through 2020, she was a sideline reporter for New England Sports Network (NESN), best known for her work at Boston Red Sox games. Biography Austin grew up in Seattle, Washington, in what she called a "hockey family," and figure skated as a child. Her given name was her grandmother's maiden name. The 2014–15 Boston Bruins season was their 91st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. Despite earning 96 points, the Bruins did not qualify for the 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs, ending their seven-season playoff streak. At the time, this was the most points ever by a team who did not qualify, surpassing the 95 points earned by the 2006–07 Colorado Avalanche and the 2010–11 Dallas Stars. The Bruins held this record for three seasons, until the 2017–18 Florida Panthers tied their record. The 2018–19 Montreal Canadiens and the 2024–25 Calgary Flames achieved the same thing. The 2015–16 Boston Bruins season was the 92nd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. The season began its regular games on October 8, 2015, against the Winnipeg Jets with a 6–2 loss. One all-time franchise achievement the Bruins attained this season is shared by only their greatest rival, the Canadiens - a total of 3,000 wins in the team's existence, achieved by the Bruins on January 8, 2016, in a 4–1 road victory against the New Jersey Devils. However, the Bruins missed the playoffs for the second straight season, and missed the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time in a decade. This was the last time the Bruins failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs until the 2024–25 season. Gord Kluzak
Gordon Glen Kluzak (born March 4, 1964) is a Canadian former professional hockey player who played for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1982 to 1991. He was selected first overall by the Bruins in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Gord Kluzak was born in Climax, Saskatchewan. He grew up on a wheat farm in Saskatchewan, and attended high school in Wilcox, Saskatchewan at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame. Kluzak played junior hockey for two seasons with the WHL's Billings Bighorns, where he was paired on defence with future NHLer Bob Rouse. He missed half of the 1981–82 season and entire 1982 playoffs after he tore ligaments in his left knee in a game against the Medicine Hat Tigers on Feb. 9, 1982, which would be the first of many knee problems for Kluzak. The 2019–20 Boston Bruins season was the 96th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. The Bruins entered the season as the defending Eastern Conference champions. The season was suspended by the league officials on March 12, 2020, after several other professional and collegiate sports organizations followed suit as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On May 26, the NHL regular season was officially declared over with the remaining games being cancelled, while the Bruins were awarded the Presidents' Trophy.
