This is a list of episodes for the Studio Pierrot anime series, '' Blue Dragon'', based on the video game of the same name. The series' first season was broadcast on TV Tokyo for fifty-one episodes from April 2007 to March 2008. A second fifty-one episode season, titled ''Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows'', was broadcast from April 2008 to March 2009. The series was licensed in English by Viz Media. The series aired in the United States on Cartoon Network and on their Toonami Jetstream streaming platform in 2008. , previously known as until 2002, is a Japanese animation studio established in May 1979 by Yuji Nunokawa, previously an animator and director for Tatsunoko Production. Its headquarters are located in Mitaka, Tokyo. is a role-playing video game developed by Mistwalker and Artoon in collaboration with Microsoft Game Studios Japan and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. ''Blue Dragon'' is based on a design by ''Final Fantasy'' series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, who also supervised development and wrote the plot. It is both Mistwalker's debut title and the first title to be helmed by Sakaguchi outside of Square Enix. Toonami Jetstream was an ad-supported online broadband streaming service launched on July 17, 2006, for the Toonami programming block. It was launched through a collaboration between Cartoon Network and VIZ Media to stream the company's more popular shows on demand, as well as bring shows from overseas to an American audience. Toonami Jetstream acted as a remake of the previous Toonami video streaming service, Toonami Reactor. The service hosted various popular anime series featured on Toonami, as well as music videos and game reviews.
