Amjad Hossain
Amjad Hossain (14 August 1942 – 14 December 2018) was a Bangladeshi film director, actor, scriptwriter and lyricist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films ''Golapi Ekhon Traine'' (1978) and '' Bhat De'' (1984). He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992. Career Hossain was born in Jamalpur on 14 August 1942. Hossain debuted his acting career in the film ''Tomar Amar'' (1961). He made his directorial debut as an assistant in the film ''Agun Niye Khela'' (1967). Filmography Personal life Hossain had two sons - Sajjad Hossain Dodul and Sohel Arman. Sohel was married to actress Tareen Jahan. Kamal Ahmad
Kamal Ahmad (born March 28, 1965) is a Bangladesh-born, now US national, educator and social entrepreneur. He led the creation of the Asian University for Women located in Chittagong, Bangladesh in 2006. Early life Ahmad was born in Dhaka, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) to a family of educators. At age 14, Ahmad established a series of internationally funded afternoon schools for adolescents who served as domestic workers in Dhaka. The first of his schools was set up on the side of an abandoned public road near the campus of the University of Dhaka. The ''Juvenile Literacy Programme'' that he started with international funding was possibly the first non-governmental initiative in the area of informal education for children in Bangladesh. Mohammad Zahirullah (19 August 1935 – disappeared 30 January 1972), known as Zahir Raihan, was a Bangladeshi novelist, writer and filmmaker. He is most notable for his documentary '' Stop Genocide'' (1971), made during the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was posthumously awarded Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1992 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and education Mohammad Zahirullah was born on 19 August 1935, at Majupur, a village in the Feni Mahakuma under Noakhali district of the Bengal Presidency in British India (now Feni district in Bangladesh). After the Partition of Bengal in 1947, he, along with his parents, returned to his village from Calcutta. He obtained his bachelor's in Bengali from the University of Dhaka. ''Jibon Theke Neya'' () is a 1970 Bengali-language Pakistani film directed by Zahir Raihan. The film is a political satire based on the Bengali Language Movement under the rule of Pakistan metaphorically, where an autocratic woman in one family symbolizes the political dictatorship of Ayub Khan in East Pakistan, and stars Shuchanda, Razzak, Rosy Samad and Shawkat Akbar.
