Chamlian Armenian School
Chamlian Armenian School () is an Armenian elementary school in Glendale, California. Chamlian Armenian School teaches grades from kindergarten through 8. History The school was launched as an Armenian school in 1975. In 1983, it was purchased by husband and wife Vahan and Anoush Chamlian and renamed to Chamlian Armenian School. The school has been fully accredited by WASC since 1983. Initially the school was offered from 1st to 4th grade. In 1985, the school expanded to 8th grade. In 1991, Vazken Madenlian was appointed as the principal. In 2011, the school got approval for the addition of a gymnasium. In 2018, kindergarten was also added. In 2014, it won approval from the City of Glendale to expand from 500 to 700 students. Talin P. Kargodorian was appointed to principal in 2014, replacing Vazken Madenlian. Yeghishe Manoukian College is an Armenian college in Lebanon. It is situated in Dbayyeh, in the Metn district. Getronagan is an Armenian minority high school in the Karaköy district of Istanbul, Turkey, The school is attached to the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church. Establishment With the sponsorship of Archbishop Nerses Varjabetyan, Getronagan High School opened its doors on September 1, 1886. The Catholicos of All Armenians (the religious leader of all Armenians), Magar, and Harutyun Archbishop Vehabetyan, the Patriarch of Armenians in İstanbul, conducted the opening commencement. Minas Cheraz became its first principal. Today Getronagan teaches both genders. In 2001, the school had 182 students. Melkonian Educational Institute
The Melkonian Educational Institute (MEI) (; ) was an Armenian boarding school of high academic standard located in Nicosia, Cyprus. Established in 1926 by the Melkonian brothers, it was the only remaining boarding school servicing students of the Armenian Diaspora from about 40 countries. Maintained by the Armenian General Benevolent Union, a decision to close down the school in 2005 caused controversy among the Armenian-Cypriot community and especially among former students. Established in September 2006, the school operated under the auspices of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), the largest Armenian non-profit organization in the Armenian diaspora. It officially closed in 2020 due to declining enrollment and financial constraints. The Armenian Evangelical Secondary School of Anjar () was founded by Swiss Missionaries in 1947. It has a dormitory for boys and girls. The present principal is Rev. Hagop Akbasharian. History Soon after the Armenian people of Musa Dagh were settled in the village of Anjar located in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon in 1939, the Armenian Evangelical School (elementary section) started to operate in the newly constructed church building. In 1947, at the peak of Second World War and while Anjarians refugees were suffering during these hard times, the school gave its first graduates from the elementary section. In 1947, Sister Hedwig Aienshanslin, member of the Swiss-German Hilfsbund Mission, arrived in Anjar and started the missionary work in a single room. The Yeprem and Martha Philibosian Armenian Evangelical College (A.E.C.) (, ) was founded in 1923 in Beirut, Lebanon. The Armenian Evangelical Central High School () is one of the oldest and most-well established Armenian schools in Lebanon. It was founded in 1922 in a refugee camp, on the initiative of the Reverend Yenovk Hadidian. Ten years later, it moved to its present location in Ashrafieh, eastern Beirut. The current principal is Mrs. Maral Deyirmenjian (2007- ).
