List Of All-Atlantic Hockey Teams
The All-Atlantic Hockey Teams were composed of players at all positions from teams that are members of the Atlantic Hockey Association, an NCAA Division I hockey-only conference. Each year, at the conclusion of the Atlantic Hockey regular season, the head coaches of each member team voted for players to be placed on each all-conference team. The First Team, Second Team and Rookie Teams were named from 2003–04 (the inaugural year of Atlantic Hockey) and a Third Team was added starting in 2006–07. The all-conference teams were composed of one goaltender, two defencemen and three forwards. Should a tie occur for the final selection at any position, both players were included as part of the superior team with no reduction in the number of players appearing on any succeeding teams (as happened in 2004–05 and 2008–09). Atlantic Hockey
The Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) was an NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey conference which operates primarily in the northeastern United States. It participated in the NCAA's Division I as an ice hockey-only conference. Unlike several other college athletic conferences, Atlantic Hockey had no women's division, though it shared some organizational and administrative roles (and three universities) with the women's-only College Hockey America (CHA). It was formed in 1997 and began play in the 1998–1999 season as the hockey division of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Within three years, it was granted an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. However, in 2003, Iona and Fairfield dropped hockey, leaving Canisius as the only full MAAC member that sponsored hockey. American International Yellow Jackets Men's Ice Hockey
The American International Yellow Jackets men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college ice hockey program that represents American International College (AIC) and are members of Atlantic Hockey America. They had previously been Division I when as such had the privilege of playing at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. At the end of the 2024–25 season they moved to Division II. History AIC began its varsity program in 1948, playing a modest schedule for the first dozen years, building the program under William Turner before he handed it off to Joe Bucholz. In 1961, the Yellow Jackets joined with 27 other eastern schools (mostly in New England) to form ECAC Hockey. AIC finished near the bottom for three seasons and in 1964 it was decided that the conference was too unwieldy to continue and was split into two divisions. The Holy Cross Crusaders men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I college ice hockey program that represents the College of the Holy Cross. The Crusaders are members of Atlantic Hockey America (AHA), formed shortly after the 2023–24 season by the merger of their former home of the Atlantic Hockey, Atlantic Hockey Association with the women-only College Hockey America. The Mercyhurst Lakers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association hockey team that represents Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania under Head Coach Rick Gotkin. The team is currently a Division I hockey team playing out of the Mercyhurst Ice Center located on the school campus.
