A.E.K ( el, AEK , formally Αθλητική Ένωσις Κωνσταντινουπόλεως; Athlitikí Énosis Konstantinoupόleos, ''Athletic Union of Constantinople''), known as A.E.K, is a major Greek multi-sport club based in Nea Filadelfeia, Athens. The club is more commonly known in European competitions as A.E.K Athens. Established in Athens in 1924 by Greek refugees from Constantinople after the 1919–22 Greco-Turkish war and the subsequent population exchange between Greece and Turkey, it is one of the three most successful clubs in Greece. The 1938–39 Panhellenic Championship was the 10th season of the highest football league of Greece. 14 teams participated, for the first time so many and for the first time from the province. It was held in two groups, Southern Group with 8 and Northern Group with 6 teams, which qualified from the championships of the local associations. The 1935–36 Panhellenic Championship was the 7th season of the highest football league of Greece. It was held as a national category, in which 8 (out of 10) teams from the 3 founding Associations of the HFF, ''that had participated in the 2 groups of the previous season's Semi-final round'' and resulted as follows: *Athenian Championship: The first 3 Athenian teams of the ranking in the 1934–35 Southern Group. * Piraeus' Championship: The 2 Piraeus' teams of the 1934–35 Southern Group. *Macedonian Championship: The first 3 Macedonian teams of the ranking in the 1934–35 Northern Group. The 1934–35 Panhellenic Championship was not held due to increased obligations of the Greece national team to fully prepare for the 5th Balkan Cup. Ten teams from the 3 founding associations of HFF participated in the Panhellenic Championship 1934–35, divided into 2 groups, South and North. They were represented by the same number of clubs as the previous championship and specifically by them, since the local championships were stopped to save time.
