''Britain's Got Talent'' is a British talent reality television series that first aired in 2007. As of 11 June 2025, there have been eighteen completed series. The show has been spun off around the world under the ''Got Talent'' franchise. The competition is open to people of all ages who possess a talent. After the initial rounds of auditions, successful contestants are narrowed down by the judges. In the first series, 24 contestants made it into the three semi-finals, and in subsequent series this has been increased to 40 (45 in series 6–10) contestants across five live shows. The act which receives the most public votes in each semi-final goes through to the final, with the second finalist being decided by the judges from the second and third most popular contestants. In series 6, a "wildcard" element was introduced. This is where judges pick an eliminated act from the semi-finals, and that act is sent through to the final. ''Britain's Got Talent'' (often abbreviated to ''BGT'') is a televised British talent show competition, and part of the global '' Got Talent'' franchise created by Simon Cowell. Presented by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (colloquially known as Ant & Dec), it is produced by Talkback Thames (Thames from 2012 to 2024) and Syco Entertainment, distributed by Fremantle, and broadcast on ITV every year (excluding 2021) in late Spring to early Summer. The show was originally intended for production in 2005, but filming was delayed after the intended host, Paul O'Grady, stepped down. George Sampson
George William Sampson (born 29 June 1993) is an English street dancer, television presenter, singer, and actor. He won the second series of '' Britain's Got Talent'' on 31 May 2008 at the age of 14. He is an official ambassador of the United Dance Organisation. The eighth series of British talent competition programme ''Britain's Got Talent'' was broadcast on ITV (TV network), ITV, from 12 April to 7 June 2014; because of England national football team, England's international friendly with Peru national football team, Peru, the show took a break on 30 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match. Collabro are a UK-based ''musical theatre'' group and winners of the ''eighth series'' of ''Britain's Got Talent'' in 2014. The group consisted of Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan, Thomas J. Redgrave and Richard Hadfield, who left the band in June 2016. Collabro was voted the United Kingdom's favourite Britain's Got Talent Winners in a National Poll. The band have a following who they refer to as their "Collaborators" and famous fans include ''Jade Thirlwall'' from ''Little Mix''. The seventh series of British talent competition programme ''Britain's Got Talent'' was broadcast on ITV, from 13 April to 8 June 2013; because of England's international friendly with the Republic of Ireland that year, the show took a break on 29 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match. Attraction (shadow Theatre Group)
Attraction are a Hungarian shadow theatre group. They rose to fame during a performance at the Hungary Olympic Oath Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics, in which they did a rendition of many of the traditional sports within the five rings of the Olympic games logo. Less than a year later, they won the seventh series of ''Britain's Got Talent'' on 8 June 2013, beating Jack Carroll. History 2004: Formation guys The group was founded in 2004 by Zoltán Szűcs. The sixth series of British talent competition programme '' Britain's Got Talent'' was broadcast on ITV, from 24 March to 12 May 2012. The sixth series saw Simon Cowell resume a full commitment to the programme following the previous series, yet neither David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre returned to take part in the new series, leading to them being replaced by Alesha Dixon and David Walliams. Ashleigh and Pudsey was a musical canine freestyle act, comprising trainer Ashleigh Jade Butler (born 7 February 1995) and Pudsey (28 December 2005 – 20 July 2017), a male Border Collie, Bichon Frise, and Chinese Crested powderpuff cross. They achieved prominence as contestants in the sixth series of the television talent show ''Britain's Got Talent'', which they won on 12 May 2012, becoming the first dog trick act to win the competition. Jai McDowall (born 24 July 1986) is a Scottish singer-songwriter, who won the fifth series of ''Britain's Got Talent'' in June 2011. As the winner, he received £100,000 and performed at the 2011 Royal Variety Performance. McDowall was signed to Syco Music, a subdivision of record label giant, Sony Music. His debut album ''Believe'' was released on 9 December 2011. The lead single "With or Without You" was released the same day. In March 2012, he was dropped by Syco after poor sales of his debut album. It was reported that the singer claimed that Syco boss, Simon Cowell, was anti-Scottish.
