''Il rossetto'' (internationally released as ''Lipstick'') is a 1960 Italian crime-drama film directed by Damiano Damiani in his feature film debut, after two documentaries and several screenplays. The film's plot was loosely inspired by actual events. Pietro Germi reprised, with very slight modifications, the character he played in ''Un maledetto imbroglio''. Damiano Damiani
Damiano Damiani (23 July 1922 – 7 March 2013) was an Italian screenwriter, film director, actor and writer. Poet and director Pier Paolo Pasolini referred to him as "a bitter moralist hungry for old purity", while film critic Paolo Mereghetti said that his style made him "the most American of Italian directors". In 1946 Damiani became part of the so-called Group of Venice with Fernando Carcupino, Hugo Pratt and Dino Battaglia. Life and career Born in Pasiano di Pordenone, Italy, Damiani studied at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, then made his début in 1947 with the documentary ''La banda d'Affari''. After a few years as a screenwriter, he directed his first feature film in 1960, '' Il rossetto''. Georgia Moll
Giorgia Moll (born 14 January 1938) is an Italian film actress. She was sometimes credited as Georgia Moll and Georgia Mool. Background Moll was born in Prata di Pordenone to a German father and an Italian mother. At a young age, she began a brief career as a model and in 1955 she won the "Miss Cinema" beauty contest. The following year she started her film career, being mainly active in comedies and adventure films. She was critically appreciated for her dramatic performance in Damiano Damiani's ''Lipstick'' (1960). Moll retired from acting in the early 1970s.
