''Lightnin is a 1925 American silent comedy film directed by John Ford. It was based on a successful Lightnin' (play), play of the same name. The original run of the play started in 1918 at the Embassy Five Theatre, Gaiety Theatre and continued for 1,291 performances, breaking the record for longest running play at that time. The film was Lightnin' (1930 film), remade in 1930 by Henry King (director), Henry King for Fox Film, Fox as an early talkie starring Will Rogers with support from Louise Dresser and Joel McCrea. John Ford
John Martin Feeney (February 1, 1894 – August 31, 1973), better known as John Ford, was an American film director and producer. He is regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers during the Golden Age of Hollywood, and was one of the first American directors to be recognized as an auteur. Ida Moore
Ida Moore (March 1, 1882 – September 26, 1964) was an American film and television actress. Early life Moore was born in Altoona, Kansas as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvelton Moore. Career Moore's first professional work had her singing to accompany silent films. She then toured England and South Africa entertaining with a partner. After she returned to the United States, she performed in road companies of plays, including ''Street Scene''. Just before she could make a screen test for Paramount Pictures, her mother became sick, causing Moore to return to Columbus, Ohio, where she ran a restaurant for her mother and acted in amateur productions. She returned to Hollywood after her mother died. She also worked on television programs, including a 1958 episode of ''Alfred Hitchcock Presents'' titled "Bull in a China Shop". Erville Alderson
Erville Alderson (September 11, 1882 – August 4, 1957) was an American character actor, usually portraying strong-willed or wise men. He appeared in nearly 200 films between 1918 and 1957. Life Alderson was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He married Lillian Worth, an American actress, on January 14, 1918 in Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. By 1925, the couple were divorced. Otis Harlan (December 29, 1865 – January 20, 1940) was an American actor and comedian. He voiced Happy, one of the Seven Dwarfs in the Disney animated film '' Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs''. Richard Travers (Born Richard Libb; 15 April 1885 – 20 April 1935) was a Canadian film actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 140 films between 1912 and 1930. Early years Travers was born Richard Libb on 15, April 1885, in Hudson Bay Post, Northwest Territory, Canada. He attended St. Andrew College in Glasgow, Scotland. Travers fought with Canadians in the Boer War, with his height making him appear older than his actual 15 years. He received promotions and "was a prime favorite".
