Liam Griffin (racing Driver)
Liam Griffin (born 9 March 1973 in Chipping Barnet, Barnet, Greater London) is a British racing driver and businessman. He is the son of John Griffin (businessman), John Griffin and was CEO of minicab company Addison Lee for 10 years before carrying out a management buyout with the private equity firm Carlyle. He is currently the Vice Chairman of Addison Lee. He has competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice and currently races in the European Le Mans Series. He has also represented Ireland at Triathlon in the European and World Age Group Championships. Racing career Early years Griffin started racing in 2008, competing in the VW Cup. He spent two years in the series, collecting three podiums and two race wins. Chipping Barnet or High Barnet is a suburban market town in north London, forming part of the London Borough of Barnet, England. It is a suburban development built around a 12th-century settlement, and is located north-northwest of Charing Cross, east from Borehamwood, west from Enfield Town, Enfield and south from Potters Bar. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport Race track, circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Super 2000 is an Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA powertrain specification used in the World Rally Championship, the British Touring Car Championship, the World Touring Car Championship, and other touring car racing, touring car championships. The engines were originally 2 L naturally aspirated, and later 1.6 L turbocharged units were allowed producing approximately 280 bhp. The goal of the Super 2000 classification is to allow more manufacturers and privateers to race by reducing the cost of a competitive car. In order to cut costs and shorten development time, the Super 2000 rally cars originally used a common control gearbox and drivetrain made by the French company, Sadev. Jack Sears
Jack Sears (16 February 1930 – 6 August 2016) was a British race and rally driver, and was one of the principal organisers of the 1968 London-Sydney Marathon. Biography Sears was popularly known as "Gentleman Jack". His son David is also involved in motorsport. He won the inaugural British Saloon Car Championship in 1958, driving an Austin Westminster. After finishing on joint maximum points with Tommy Sopwith, it was initially suggested the champion would be decided by the toss of a coin.
