León De Castillo
Christian Kostal León de Castillo (born 7 September 1985) is an Austrian-Mexican tenor, conceptual artist, musicologist and artistic director. Biography and career León de Castillo was born in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, the son of a Mexican mother and an Austrian father. Several generations of his father's family were involved in music in different ways such as: singing in the Vienna Boys' Choir and other choirs, as conductors (''Kapellmeister''), and organists. His career began at the age of five when he sang in a boys' choir in Mérida, Mexico. Later, in Vienna, he passed the audition at the Mozart Boys' Choir of Vienna and participated in various tours around Europe, and to South America and Asia. He also performed in various operas with the Vienna State Opera and Vienna Volksoper, and performed at numerous festivals including the Vienna Festival. Mérida, Yucatán
Mérida (, ) is the capital of the List of states of Mexico, Mexican state of Yucatán, and the largest city in southeastern Mexico. XXVIII/10, is an opera in three acts by Joseph Haydn first performed at the Eszterháza palace in Fertőd, Hungary, on 25 February 1781 to celebrate the reopening of the court theatre after a fire. The opera was revised for a new version first performed in 1782. Franz Joseph Haydn ( ; ; 31 March 173231 May 1809) was an Austrian composer of the Classical period (music), Classical period. He was instrumental in the development of chamber music such as the string quartet and piano trio. His contributions to musical form have led him to be called "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String quartet". Haydn arose from humble origins, the child of working people in a rural village. Daniel Catán Porteny (April 3, 1949 – April 9, 2011) was a Mexican composer, writer and professor known particularly for his operas and his contribution of the Spanish language to the international repertory. With a compositional style described as lush, romantic and lyrical, Catán's second opera, ''Rappaccini’s Daughter'', became the first Mexican opera in the United States to be produced by a professional opera company. ''Der Prinz von Homburg'' (''The Prince of Homburg'') is a German-language opera in three acts by Hans Werner Henze with a libretto by Ingeborg Bachmann (1926–1973). It was completed in 1958 but premiered on 22 May 1960 in Hamburg. Background The text is based on the 1811 play, '' Prinz Friedrich von Homburg'' by Heinrich von Kleist. (Wm; German for 'master-sentinel' or 'watch-master') is a military rank of non-commissioned officers (NCO) in Austria and Switzerland. It is also used in civil authorities in German-speaking countries (police, judiciary, customs service, border protection). The was initially responsible for the guard duty of the army.
