Following its creation by the 2023 periodic review of Westminster constituencies, it was first contested in the 2024 general election. It is currently represented by Ellie Reeves of the Labour Party, who currently serves as Chair of the Labour Party. Lewisham West And East Dulwich 2023 Constituency
Lewisham ( ) is an area of southeast London, England, south of Charing Cross. It is the principal area of the London Borough of Lewisham, and was within the historic county of Kent until 1889. It is identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London, with a large shopping centre and street market. Lewisham had a population of 60,573 in 2011. History The earliest written reference to Lewisham – – is from a charter from 862 which established the boundaries with neighbouring Bromley. Lewisham is sometimes said to have been founded, according to Bede, by a pagan Jute, Leof, who settled (by burning his boat) near St Mary's Church (Ladywell) where the ground was drier, in the 6th century, but there seems to be no solid source for this speculation, and there is no such passage in Bede's history. The 2023 review of Westminster constituencies was the most recent cycle of the process to redraw the Constituencies of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, constituency map for the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The new constituency boundaries were approved by the Privy Council (United Kingdom), Privy Council on 15 November 2023 and came into law on 29 November. Dulwich and West Norwood is a constituency in South London created in 1997. It has been represented by Helen Hayes of Labour since her election in 2015. In the 2016 EU referendum, Dulwich and West Norwood voted to remain in the European Union by an estimated 78%. Crofton Park is a mainly residential suburb and wards of the United Kingdom, electoral ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is the original site of the former agricultural hamlet of Brockley. It is located south east of Charing Cross, and is south of Brockley and north of Honor Oak. Major points of interest include the Rivoli Ballroom, the Brockley Jack Theatre and the Arts and Crafts movement, Arts and Crafts Gothic church of St Hilda. Perry Vale
Perry Vale is a neighbourhood and electoral ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is southeast of Charing Cross and located near Forest Hill to the east of Forest Hill railway station, where the railway line forms the western boundary. The ward is named after the main road Perry Vale which passes through, this road is part of the B227 road which is called Perry Rise further to the south. The electoral ward has existed since the London Borough of Lewisham revised its wards and ward boundaries in 2002. From 1978 to 2002 a similarly named ward Perry Hill existed.
