Let's Get Together (Hayley Mills Song)
"Let's Get Together" is a song written by Robert and Richard Sherman for the 1961 Disney film '' The Parent Trap''. Background It was sung in the film by teen actress Hayley Mills, using double-tracking because she played both the roles of twin sisters. Annette Funicello and Tommy Sands also did a version of the song in the film, which is heard during the dance at the summer camp. Chart performance When released on disc, the song debuted on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in September 1961 (b/w "Cobbler, Cobbler") and went on to become a top 10 hit, peaking at number 8. The credit on the single reads "Hayley Mills and Hayley Mills", a tongue-in-cheek reference to Mills apparently singing a duet with herself. Released in the UK, it reached the top 20, peaking at number 17. In 1963, the song reached #1 in Mexico. "Let's Get Together", also known as "Get Together" and "Everybody Get Together", is a song written in the mid-1960s by the American singer-songwriter Chet Powers (stage name Dino Valenti), from the psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service. A hit version by the Youngbloods, included on their 1967 debut album ''The Youngbloods'', peaked at No. 5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1969. Background The song is an appeal for peace and brotherhood, presenting the polarity of love versus fear, and the choice to be made between them. It is best remembered for the impassioned plea in the lines of its refrain ("Come on people now/Smile on your brother/Everybody get together/Try to love one another right now"), which is repeated several times in succession to bring the song to its conclusion. ''KC Ten'' is the tenth studio album by the funk and disco group KC and the Sunshine Band. The album was produced by Harry Wayne Casey, Robert Walker, and Ron Taylor and was released in December 1983 on the Meca label. History ''KC Ten'' was credited only to the group’s lead vocalist, KC. Let's Get Together Now
Let's Get Together Now is the official local song of the 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan. Performed by the Supergroup Voice of Korea/Japan (Lena Park and Brown Eyes from South Korea and Sowelu and Chemistry from Japan), it was released in three separate versions: a full Japanese version, a full Korean version (with some English at the end), and a merged version which combines the lyrics of the two versions. The last of the three was included in the official soundtrack album and was performed in the opening ceremonies in Seoul on May 31, 2002. Composed by Daisuke Kawaguchi and Kim Hyung-Suk and written by Yoshimitsu Sawamoto, Kiyoshi Matsuo, Park, and Kim, the lyrics tell spirit of gathering and coming together as one, as with the theme of the two countries in co-hosting the said event. "Let's Stick Together" is a blues-based rhythm and blues song written by Wilbert Harrison. In 1962, Fury Records released it as a single. Harrison further developed the song and in 1969, Sue Records issued it as a two-part single titled "Let's Work Together". Although Harrison's original song did not appear in the record charts, his reworked version entered the U.S. Top 40. Several artists subsequently recorded the songs; "Let's Work Together" by Canned Heat (1970) and "Let's Stick Together" by Bryan Ferry (1976) were both chart successes.
