Let's All Hate Toronto
''Let's All Hate Toronto'' is a 2007 Canadian documentary film co-directed by independent documentarian Albert Nerenberg and Rob Spence. The documentary is a comedic examination of the reasons why so many people in Canada seem to hate Toronto, Ontario. In the film, co-director Robert Spence, nicknamed "Mister Toronto", takes off on a cross-Canada journey to find out why there seems to be so much resentment for Canada's biggest city, all the while promoting a fake "Toronto Appreciation Day". Synopsis Mr. Toronto starts his journey in Hamilton after he sees a billboard boasting "Toronto Sucks" as an advertisement campaign. He finds out that some fans of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats put on bags over their heads because of the shame of losing to Toronto during the Labour Day CFL game every year. Albert Nerenberg
Albert Nerenberg (born October 13, 1962) is a Canadian independent filmmaker, actor, journalist, hypnotist, and laughologist. His films include ''Stupidity'' (2003), '' Escape to Canada'' (2005), ''Let's All Hate Toronto'' (2007), '' Laughology'' (2009), ''Boredom'' (2012) and '' You Are What You Act'' (2018). Both ''Stupidity'' and ''Laughology'' are the first feature-length documentaries to discuss the topics of stupidity and laughter. Early life and education Born in London, Ontario, in 1962, Nerenberg studied English Drama at McGill University in Montreal during the 1980s, where he formed Theatre Shmeatre, an improvisational theatrical company, and served as editor in chief of the ''McGill Daily''. The Stanley Cup (french: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion.
