Leslie Armande Norman (25 February 1911 – 18 February 1993) was an English post-war film director, producer and editor who also worked extensively on 1960s television series later in his career.Brian McFarlane, ''An Autobiography of British Cinema'', Metheun 1997 Early life Norman was born on 25 February 1911 at Shepherd's Bush, West London, to Jewish chiropodist Jacob Norman and Evelyn Maria (née Wootton). Leaving school at 14, Norman worked in the film industry from the age of 16, working his way up from sweeper of the cutting-room floors at Ealing Studios to become an editor at 19. Editor Norman's early credits as editor were for British International. They included '' The Man from Chicago'' (1930), '' Compromising Daphne'' (1930), '' Fascination'' (1931) for director Miles Mander, '' Potiphar's Wife'' (1931) with Laurence Olivier for director Maurice Elvey, and '' Men Like These'' (1932) which he also co wrote. Leslie George Norman (3 September 1913 – 5 July 1997) was an Australian politician. Norman represented Glen Iris in the Victorian Legislative Assembly for four years, and led the Liberal and Country Party from 1951–1952. Norman was a staunch Methodist and an equally staunch conservative. He held strong small government views, and had little patience for the "socialism" of the Labor Party. Born in Melbourne, Norman attended primary school in Malvern and went on to University High School. Upon graduation at the age of 15, he joined an accounting firm as a clerk. He took night classes in accountancy during his employment there, and at the age of 22, left the firm to set up his own practice, Norman and Cartledge. At the outbreak of World War II, Norman enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force and was posted in Malaya with the Australian 8th Division. Leslie Eugene Norman (born February 25, 1969) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played for two seasons. He played in 24 games for the Kansas City Royals during the 1995 Kansas City Royals season and 54 games during the 1996 Kansas City Royals season. Les Norman (lacrosse)
Leslie D. "Les" Norman (December 2, 1939 in Sexsmith, Alberta – December 2010) was a Canadian professional and amateur box lacrosse goaltender. A long-time member of the New Westminster Salmonbellies franchise, Norman was a winner of three Mann Cups as a Canadian Lacrosse Champion, the 1968 National Lacrosse Association professional championship, and the 1965 Mann Cup's most valuable player. Norman was also the first goaltender to post a shutout in a Western Lacrosse Association (then ICLL) game. Les Norman was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1989. Career In 1958, Norman played for both the Senior and Junior teams in New Westminster. In the 1959 season, he was chosen to replace legend Bunny Joseph. By the end of the season, Norman was named a First Team All-Star and Rookie of the Year of the ICLL.
