Les Yeux De La Faim
"Les Yeux de la faim" (meaning "The Eyes of Hunger") is a French-language song written by Canadian journalist Gil Courtemanche and Canadian composer Jean Robitaille. It was recorded by a one-off supergroup of many musicians to raise funds for the Quebec-Africa Foundation, a charity to help people facing famine in Africa. It was released as a charity single in May 1985 in Quebec. "Les Yeux de la faim" was one of a number of such supergroup singles released around this time, along with "Do They Know It's Christmas?" in the United Kingdom, "We Are the World" in the United States and " Tears Are Not Enough" in English Canada. Véronique Béliveau
Véronique Béliveau (born January 24, 1955), originally Nicole Monique, is a Canadian actress and pop/rock singer who was nominated for a 1987 Juno Award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Her first full-length album was ''Prends-moi comme je suis'' in 1977. Her first English language album was ''Borderline'' in 1987, which was released under the single name Veronique. In 1985, she was one of a group of Canadian singers to make " Tears Are Not Enough" to raise funds to fight famine in Ethiopia. Pierre Lalonde
Pierre Lalonde (January 20, 1941 – June 21, 2016) was a Canadian singer and television host, who was sometimes also billed as Peter Martin in the United States. The son of Jean Lalonde, a popular singer in the 1940s, Lalonde attended high school in the United States but returned to Canada in 1960, where he worked at radio station CKJL with his father in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. Shortly after, he worked in Montreal at CJMS. In 1961, Lalonde moved to television station CFTM-TV to host a variety of programs, including the popular show ''Jeunesse d'aujourd'hui'' (''Today's Youth''). The following year he released his first single and made his first LP in 1963. Lalonde mainly recorded in French, but he released a number of singles in English as well.
