Legends Of Shannara
Legends of Shannara is a series of two fantasy fiction novels by Terry Brooks, published in the United States by Del Rey Books in 2010 and 2011, respectively. It bridges Brooks's '' Genesis of Shannara series'' and ''Shannara'' series, and covers events taking place 500 years after The Great Wars. The books ''Bearers of the Black Staff'' (released August 24, 2010) tells of the quest of the eponymous Sider Ament, who, with his companions' help, must protect his home valley from an army of Trolls. ''The Measure of the Magic'' (released August 23, 2011) focuses on Sider Ament's companion Panterra Qu, who inherited the staff in ''Bearers of the Black Staff'', and his efforts to control the ancient artifact's magic. Terry Brooks
Terence Dean Brooks (born January 8, 1944) is an American writer of fantasy fiction. He writes mainly high fantasy, epic fantasy, and has also written two film novelizations. He has written 23 New York Times Best Seller List, ''New York Times'' bestsellers during his writing career, and has sold over 25 million copies of his books in print. He is one of the most successful living fantasy writers. Early life Brooks was born in the rural Midwestern town of Sterling, Illinois, and spent a large part of his life living there. He is an alumnus of Hamilton College (New York), Hamilton College, earning his Bachelor of Arts, B.A. in English literature in 1966. He later obtained a Juris Doctor, J.D. degree from Washington and Lee University. He was a practicing attorney before becoming a full-time author. The Genesis of Shannara is a series of novels written by American author Terry Brooks. The first book, ''Armageddon's Children'', was released by Del Rey Books on August 29, 2006, in the United States, and by Orbit Books on September 7, 2006, in the United Kingdom. The novel details the quest of two Knights of the Word in protecting two powerful magics in a post-apocalyptic Earth. The second book, ''The Elves of Cintra,'' was published August 28, 2007. It deals mostly with the Elves first mentioned in ''Armageddon's Children'', continuing the storyline of the two Knights of the Word.
