Lefty Dizz
Lefty Dizz (April 29, 1937 – September 7, 1993) was an American Chicago blues guitarist and singer whose recorded work was released on eight albums. As well as fronting his own band, he worked with Junior Wells, J. B. Lenoir and Hound Dog Taylor. One commentator noted that "for wild-ass showmen in blues history ... one would certainly have to go a far piece to beat Lefty Dizz". He favoured a right-handed Fender Stratocaster, which he played left-handed, hence the first part of his stage name. The derivation of the second part of his stage name is uncertain. According to one source, the name came from his playing the trumpet in the style of Dizzy Gillespie; another source says that Ted Harvey, the drummer for Hound Dog Taylor & the HouseRockers, gave him the nickname in reference to his "playing jazz in the alley". He was reputedly the brother of blues musician Johnny Dollar. Biography He was born Walter Williams in Osceola, Arkansas. He learned the rudiments of guitar playin ...

The show is known for its musical guests, especially folk and traditional musicians, tongue-in-cheek radio drama, and relaxed humor. Keillor's wry storytelling segment, " News from Lake Wobegon," was the show's best-known feature during his long tenure. Distributed by Minnesota Public Radio's distribution arm, American Public Media, ''A Prairie Home Companion'' was heard on 690 public radio stations in the United States at its peak in spring 2015 and reached an audience of four million U.S. listeners each week. Lefty The Salesman
The Muppets are a group of puppet characters created by Jim Henson, many for the purpose of appearing on the children's television program ''Sesame Street''. Some of the best known Muppets on ''Sesame Street'' include Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Grover, and Elmo. Henson's involvement in ''Sesame Street'' began when he and Joan Ganz Cooney, one of the creators of the show, met in the summer of 1968, at one of the show's five three-day curriculum planning seminars in Boston. Author Christopher Finch reported that director Jon Stone, who had worked with Henson previously, felt that if they could not bring him on board, they should "make do without puppets". Henson was initially reluctant but agreed to join ''Sesame Street'' in support of its social goals. He also agreed to waive his performance fee for full ownership of the ''Sesame Street'' Muppets and to split any revenue they generated with the Children's Television Workshop (renamed to the Sesame Wo ...

The Tale Of Cross-eyed Lefty From Tula And The Steel Flea
"The Tale of Cross-eyed Lefty from Tula and the Steel Flea" (russian: Сказ о тульском косом Левше и о стальной блохе, ), ''The Tale of the Crosseyed Lefthander from Tula and the Steel Flea'' or simply ''Levsha'' (russian: Левша, ''left-handed''), sometimes called ''The Lefthander'', ''Lefty'', ''The Steel Flea'' or ''The Left-handed Craftsman'' is a well-known 1881 skaz (story) by Nikolai Leskov. Styled as a folk tale, it tells a story of a left-handed arms craftsman from Tula (traditionally a center of the Russian armaments industry) who outperformed his English colleagues by providing a clockwork steel flea he'd made with horseshoes and inscriptions on them. Lefty (album)
''Lefty'' is the seventh solo studio album by Art Garfunkel, released in 1988. The album features three songs by singer-songwriter Stephen Bishop. The album's cover photo shows a pre-teen Art Garfunkel holding a baseball bat in the front yard of his childhood home in the Forest Hills section of Queens, New York City. It was taken by his brother Jules. The album title came from the fact that Garfunkel is left-handed, which the picture established. The album failed to make the Top 100 in the US (charting at 134) and hit the bottom half of the UK Top 100. Despite this, it yielded three minor hit singles. The liner notes of the album contain a brief prose text Garfunkel had written in memory of his partner Laurie Bird who had committed suicide in 1979. The album marked a new beginning in Garfunkel's professional life after becoming somewhat of a recluse following the tragedy. Track listing # "This Is the Moment" (David Foster, Cynthia Weil, Linda Jenner, Ray Parker Jr.) – 4:31 # ...

Six (Soft Machine Album)
''Six'' is the sixth studio (instrumental) album (half including live material) by the jazz rock band Soft Machine, originally released in 1973 as a double LP. This is the first album to feature Karl Jenkins as a member and songwriter for the group. He eventually became the de facto leader and main composer of the group following the departure of the last remaining original member, Mike Ratledge in 1976. Overview The previous two albums had been issued with slightly different titles in different countries ('' Fourth'' and '' Fifth'' in the UK, ''Four'' and ''5'' in the USA, with the former album showing a numeral ''4'' on the cover, while the album before that had been titled ''Third'' worldwide). On this album, they deferred to their American standard for worldwide release. The album includes a live record and a studio record, individually titled as shown in the track listing below. One song from the live album, "All White", had been previously recorded for their '' Fifth'' al ...

Lefty (protein)
Lefty (left-right determination factors) are a class of proteins that are closely related members of the TGF-beta superfamily of growth factors. These proteins are secreted and play a role in left-right asymmetry determination of organ systems during development. Mutations of the genes encoding these proteins have been associated with left-right axis malformations, particularly in the heart and lungs. History Lefty, a divergent member of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF beta) superfamily of proteins, was originally discovered in the Hamada lab at the Osaka University using deletion screening of cDNA libraries in P19 embryonic carcinoma cells to find clones that did not differentiate when induced to differentiate using retinoic acid. From these screens, researchers found one gene that was a tentative member of the TGF-beta superfamily that was predominantly expressed on the left side the embryo and aptly named it lefty. Like other members of the TGF-beta superfamily, lefty ...

Davis, with MacGregor as his assistant, managed to duplicate and exceed results obtained by Allison Engine, then a division of General Motors. Faced with a commitment to invest a large amount of capital to take the project to a workable model installed in an automobile, Montgomery decided that the company should raise capital by developing and marketing other products that they had conceived. ...
