Lee Murray (writer)
Lee Wei-Hahn Murray (born 1965) is a New Zealand science fiction, fantasy, and horror writer and editor. She is a third generation Chinese New Zealander who has written over forty works. She is a five-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award and a twelve-time winner of the Sir Julius Vogel Award. She is most noted for her Taine McKenna military thrillers, and supernatural crime-noir series The Path of Ra. In December 2024, Murray was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to literature, particularly speculative literature. Biography Murray was born in Putāruru. She previously worked as a scientist and an advisor for the OECD. She is the co-founder of Young New Zealand Writers with Piper Mejia, an organization which has provided development and publishing opportunities for New Zealand school students. Lee Brahim Murray-Lamrani (born 12 November 1977) is an English mixed martial arts fighter and convicted bank robber. In 2005, his MMA career was cut short after he was stabbed multiple times outside a Mayfair nightclub. He was arrested in Rabat, Morocco, in June 2006 and sentenced to 10 years in prison in June 2010, for masterminding the armed Securitas depot robbery in Kent, England, where £53,116,760 of cash bank notes belonging to the Bank of England were stolen by Murray and his associates on 22 February 2006. It was the largest known cash robbery in the world during peacetime. After a failed attempt to escape prison and a failed appeal, his jail term was extended to 25 years on 30 November 2010. He is currently being held at a prison in Tifelt, northwestern Morocco, and despite being incarcerated fathered a child from prison in 2010.
