"Leave It to Me" was the third single by the Irish art rock quartet, Director. It was released on 5 January 2007. Although not as popular as the band's debut single " Reconnect", the single fared better than their follow-up single and charted in Ireland at number seventeen, spending only two weeks in the Irish Singles Chart. The release of this single coincided with Director winning Most Promising Act and Best Debut Album in the 2007 ''Hot Press'' Readers' Poll. National broadcaster, RTÉ, noted the song alongside debut single " Reconnect" as one of the better tracks on the album, '' We Thrive on Big Cities''. Director (band)
Director were an Irish art rock quartet from Malahide in County Dublin. The group consisted of Michael Moloney (vocals/guitars), Eoin Aherne (guitars), Shea Lawlor (drums) and Rowan Averill (bass guitar). The band's 2006 debut album '' We Thrive on Big Cities'' was a critical and commercial success in Ireland. A follow-up album, ''I'll Wait for Sound'' was released in 2009. Career Style Director are known for their "art rock vision", having been educated in college; Moloney studied classical composition. Lorraine Pilkington (born 18 April 1974) is an Ireland, Irish actress from Dublin who is best known for her roles as Katrina Finlay from ''Monarch of the Glen (TV series), Monarch of the Glen'' and Lulu in ''Human Traffic''. Mark Hamilton (born 30 October 1970) is a physician and broadcaster. He is presenter of '' How Long Will You Live?'' on RTÉ One and former presenter of '' The Surgery'' on BBC Radio 1. Education and medical training Hamilton graduated from medical school with an MB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery). He then went on to specialize in several fields such as Orthopedic surgery, Geriatric medicine and Anaesthetics, and lectured Anatomy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester. Wendy Richard (born Wendy Emerton; 20 July 1943 – 26 February 2009) was an English actress, best known for her television roles as Miss Shirley Brahms on the BBC sitcom ''Are You Being Served?'' from 1972 to 1985, and Pauline Fowler on the soap opera ''EastEnders'' from 1985 to 2006. Despite being known for her Cockney accent, Richard was born in Middlesbrough. After a childhood in which her father died by suicide, Richard worked in department stores to pay her drama school fees before appearing regularly on-screen from the early 1960s. ''Tubridy Tonight'' is a talk show hosted by Ryan Tubridy that aired on RTÉ One for five seasons between 2004 and 2009. The programme featured guest interviews (usually three per show), audience participation and live music from both a guest music group and the house band. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market.
