Le Retour De Gérard Lambert
''Le Retour de Gérard Lambert'' is the fifth studio album by French singer-songwriter Renaud. It was released in 1981 by Polydor Records. In Renaud's overall discography the album was released between two live albums, ''Un Olympia pour moi tout seul'' (1982) and ''Le P'tit Bal du samedi soir et autres chansons réalistes'' (1981). The album title refers to Gérard Lambert, a character from a song on Renaud's previous studio album '' Marche à l'ombre'', who by this stage has improved his lot from riding a mobylette to driving a Simca 1000. Songs "Le Père Noël noir" (French for "Black Father Christmas") tells the story of a black burglar that Renaud mistakes for Santa Claus. "Oscar" pays homage to Renaud's grandfather who had been a communist trade-unionist and "La Blanche" was a widely acclaimed anti-drug anthem. Renaud Pierre Manuel Séchan (; born 11 May 1952 in Paris), known as Renaud, is a French singer-songwriter. With twenty-six albums to his credit, selling nearly twenty million copies, he is one of France's most popular singers. Several of his songs are popular classics in France, including the sea tale "Dès que le vent soufflera", the irreverent " Laisse béton", the ballad " Morgane de toi" and the nostalgic " Mistral gagnant". His songs, with their slang lyrics and idiosyncratic Parisian phrasing, deal with both light and serious themes, alternating humor, emotion, and social criticism. Although he enjoyed great success in France in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, his career took a roller-coaster ride thereafter, with the singer regularly falling victim to depression and alcoholism, ailments he recounts in various songs. ''La Bande à Renaud'' is a series of two tribute albums to French singer Renaud, consisting of songs of his performed by various other artists. The albums were released in June and October 2014, respectively. ''La Bande à Renaud'' The initial album was released on Mercury / Universal Music containing 14 songs interpreted by 15 artists. The musical project was supervised by Renaud himself, assisted by Dominique Blanc-Francard and Alain Lanty. It reached the top of SNEP, the official French Albums Chart in its first week of release. There were two official released singles from the single. Georget Bernier (; 21 September 1929 – 10 January 2005), more commonly known as Professeur Choron (), was a French humorist and founder of '' Hara-Kiri magazine''. Early years Born in La Neuville-aux-Bois in Lorraine, Bernier was orphaned by his father at 11 years and without a proper education, he vacillated between many jobs before fighting in the Indochina Wars for 28 months. On his return he worked in the press, and rose through the ranks to take the position of sales manager of the satirical newspaper ''Zéro''. ''Patrice Meyer'' (b. 18 December 1957) is a French electric guitarist active in Jazz, Jazz rock, Progressive rock and Canterbury scene bands. History ''Patrice Meyer'' was born in Strasbourg in the Alsace region of France. He began teaching himself guitar at an early age (10), sneaking into his older brother’s room to handle his guitar. Being self-taught, he didn’t know anything about proper guitar technique, or how to use a plectrum, so he developed a unique polyphonic style of fingerpicking using all five fingernails of his right hand. The term is most commonly used in English to refer either to the secular polyphonic French songs of late medieval music, medieval and Renaissance music or to a specific style of French pop music which emerged in the 1950s and 1960s. ''Putain de camion'' is a studio album from French artist Renaud, released in 1988 by Virgin France. The first song, ''Jonathan'', refers to white South African musician Johnny Clegg who became a friend of Renaud. ''Rouge-gorge'' was dedicated to Robert Doisneau and ''Allongés sous les vagues'' is a song deriding commercial music. ''Putain de camion'' (i.e. ''Fucking truck'') was written after the death of French humorist Coluche, another friend of Renaud, who was killed when his motorcycle collided with a truck. Michel Gérard Joseph Colucci (, ; 28 October 1944 – 19 June 1986), better known under his stage name Coluche (), was a French stage comedian, cinema actor, activist and philanthropist.
