Le Feu Follet
''The Fire Within'' (, ; "The Manic Fire" or "Will-O'-the-Wisp") is a 1963 drama film written and directed by Louis Malle. It is based on the 1931 novel ''Will O' the Wisp'' by Pierre Drieu La Rochelle, which was inspired by the life of poet Jacques Rigaut. The film stars Maurice Ronet and features Léna Skerla, Jean-Paul Moulinot, Bernard Tiphaine, Bernard Noël, Jeanne Moreau (who had previously worked with Ronet and Malle in '' Elevator to the Gallows''), Jacques Sereys, and Alexandra Stewart in supporting roles. Louis Malle
Louis Marie Malle (; 30 October 1932 – 23 November 1995) was a French film director, screenwriter, and producer who worked in both French cinema and Hollywood. Described as "eclectic" and "a filmmaker difficult to pin down", Malle made documentaries, romances, period dramas, and thrillers. He often depicted provocative or controversial subject matter. Claude Helffer
Claude Helffer (18 June 1922 – 27 October 2004) was a French pianist. Early life Helffer was born in Paris, and began piano lessons at the age of five. From the age of ten, until the outbreak of World War II, he studied with Robert Casadesus. During the war, he entered École Polytechnique and fought for the French Resistance during World War II. After the war, he studied theory and composition with René Leibowitz. Career He made his debut in Paris in 1948 and from 1954 appeared regularly in the concerts of the Domaine musical. Henri Serre (26 February 1931 – 9 October 2023) was a French actor who was best known for his role as Jim, a "vivid, melancholy, and finally tragic figure" in François Truffaut's ''Jules and Jim''. Romain Bouteille
Romain Bouteille (24 March 1937 – 31 May 2021) was a French playwright, actor, comedian, and singer. Biography Romain Bouteille is the author of nearly thirty plays of anarchist inspiration. In 1968, he met Coluche. Together, they founded the troupe Café de la Gare. The same year, he separated from his partner Sotha who married Patrick Dewaere. Both are members of the troupe. Bouteille was married to the actress Saïda Churchill, with whom he has lived for thirty years. After spending three years in Marseilles where their son Shams was born, in 1997, they settled in Beauce, in Étampes. The ''Organisation armée secrète'' (OAS, "Secret Army Organisation") was a far-right dissident French paramilitary and terrorist organisation during the Algerian War, founded in 1961 by Raoul Salan, Pierre Lagaillarde and Jean-Jacques Susini. The OAS carried out several terrorist attacks, including tortures, bombings and assassinations, all resulting in over 2,000 deaths in an attempt to prevent Algeria's independence from French colonial rule. Ursula Vian-Kübler (6 September 1928 – 18 January 2010) was a Swiss ballerina and actress. Biography Ursula Kübler was born on 6 September 1928 in Zürich, Switzerland, to Alva Giertz and Arnold Kübler. She joined the Zurich Opera, Oper Zürich as a dancer. After a career as a dancer at the opera, she danced for Maurice Béjart, before becoming a company member at the Paris Opera Ballet. After retiring from ballet, Kübler worked as a film, stage, and television actress. She met Boris Vian at a cocktail party at Gallimard in 1950, and the two started an affair. Vian later divorced his wife, and Kübler married him on 8 February 1954. In 1963, she founded the Boris Vian Association, which was renamed the Boris Vian Foundation in 1981. In 1971, she signed the Manifesto of the 343, a petition created as an act of civil disobedience arguing for the legalization of abortion in France. She died on 18 January 2010 in Eus, France. ''The Great Gatsby'' () is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald.
