Lazlo Bane is an American alternative rock band from Santa Monica, California, United States. They are well known for collaborating with former Men at Work member Colin Hay, and providing the song "Superman" as the theme for the television show '' Scrubs''. Background Formation and early years The band's origin can be traced back to the efforts of Chad Fischer touring with School of Fish in the early 1990s as a drummer. After a disagreement and falling out with a producer and School of Fish eventual split, Fischer went solo and began writing and recording his material without the benefit of professional mixing or mastering. Taking the name Lazlo Bane Chad Fischer initially signed to Los Angeles-based indie label Fish of Death Records, and released debut single "Buttercup" backed with a cover of Men at Work's 1983 hit " Overkill". "Superman" (also sometimes titled as "I'm No Superman") is a song by American band Lazlo Bane from their album '' All the Time in the World''. It is most noted for being the theme song to the American TV series '' Scrubs''. Background and release "Superman" was first released on the soundtrack album for the film ''The Tao of Steve'' in 2000, a year prior to its first appearance in ''Scrubs'', though it was not featured in the film itself. ''The Tao of Steve'' is a 2000 American romantic comedy film written by Duncan North, Greer Goodman, and Jenniphr Goodman, directed by Jenniphr Goodman, and starring Donal Logue and Greer Goodman. Chalk FarM is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles. Overview Original years The band released two albums in the late 1990s and are best known for their song "Lie On Lie", which was played for a short time on MTV in late 1996 and received radio airplay in the United States nationwide.
