Amaranth, Ontario
Amaranth is a township located in Dufferin County, Ontario, Canada, with a Canada 2021 Census, 2021 population of 4,327. It is Amaranth, named after the plant which grows abundantly within its borders. It is bordered by Mono, Ontario, Mono to the east and East Luther, Ontario, East Luther to the west. The hamlet of Laurel is located on the 5th Line (or County Road 12) and 10th Sideroad (or County Road 10). Laurelwoods Elementary School is located just outside this community, on the 6th Line and 10th Sideroad. The township building is also at this location, and has a park with baseball diamonds and soccer fields on its property. Amaranth's system of naming roads is similar to that of the Dufferin County townships of Mono and Mulmur, and the Simcoe County townships of Adjala and Tosorontio. Laurel station is an Amtrak station at 230 North Maple Street in the heart of downtown Laurel, Mississippi. Laurel Station (MARC)
Laurel is a historic passenger rail station on the MARC Camden Line in Laurel, Maryland, between the District of Columbia's Washington Union Station and Baltimore's Camden Station. Station The Laurel railroad station was originally constructed in 1884 for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad along the railroad's Washington Branch, about halfway between Baltimore and Washington, DC. The architect was E. Francis Baldwin. The structure is constructed of brick, and is one and a half stories, modified rectangle in form with overhanging gabled and hipped roof sections with brackets and terra cotta cresting, and an interior chimney. There is a louvered lunette in one gable, stick work in another, and fish-scale shingling under truncated hipped section; shed shelter, segmental arched openings. It is Queen Anne in style. Laurel Race Track Station
Laurel Race Track is a passenger rail station on the MARC Camden Line between the District of Columbia's Washington Union Station and Baltimore's Camden Station. The station was built in 1911, by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, to serve the Laurel Park race track, as is indicated by the station's eponymous name. The station and race track are just northeast of Laurel, Maryland, United States. Since the railroad tracks at the station form a geographical boundary, one station platform is in Howard County and the other (unused by MARC) is in Anne Arundel County. Service at this station is very limited. Only evening south/westbound trains (to Washington) stop at this station, and it is a flag stop, meaning that trains only stop if passengers need to get on or off. Laurel House station, branch MP 18.5, was built as part of the three-foot gauge Kaaterskill Railroad, an extension of the Stony Clove and Catskill Mountain Railroad. It was built so passengers could stop there and take a carriage to the Laurel House, a hotel that was nearby.
