Lauer, Norway
Lauer is a small island in the Hvaler municipality in South-East Norway. The Hvaler islands are located in the Oslofjord, not far from the border with Sweden. The island was first settled in the 17th century. Today, there are around 30 homes on Lauer, used as vacation homes in the summer only. Up until the 1980s, the island was inhabited all year round. Laur, Nueva Ecija
Laur, officially the Municipality of Laur (, Ilocano: ''Ili ti Laur''), is a municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon region of Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 38,263 people. The town was named after the wife of General Manuel Tino, Laureana. History Originally, the town was a barrio of the municipality of Bongabon, named San Esteban, after its patron saint, Stephen I of Hungary. Migrant settlers of the community were mostly Tagalog and Ilocanos from the provinces of Ilocos Region and Pangasinan, with some Kapampangans from the provinces of Pampanga and Tarlac. On January 13, 1917, by virtue of Executive Order No. 98 of then Governor-General Francis Burton Harrison, Laur was separated as its own town from Bongabon, and named from the wife of General Manuel Tinio, Laureana.
