The Last Judgment is part of the eschatology of the Abrahamic religions and in the Frashokereti of Zoroastrianism. Last Judgment
The Last Judgment is a concept found across the Abrahamic religions and the '' Frashokereti'' of Zoroastrianism. Christianity considers the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to entail the final judgment by God of all people who have ever lived, resulting in the salvation of a few and the damnation of many. Some Christian denominations believe most people will be saved, some believe most people will be damned, and some believe the number of the saved and of the damned is unknown. The concept of the Last Judgment is found in all the canonical gospels, particularly in the Gospel of Matthew. The Christian tradition is also followed by Islam, where it is mentioned in many chapters of the Quran, according to some interpretations. The Last Judgement (Vasari And Zuccari)
''The Last Judgment'' in the Florence Cathedral, Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, in Florence, Italy is a fresco painting which was begun by the Italian Renaissance master Giorgio Vasari in 1572 and completed after his death by Federico Zuccari, in 1579. Initially commissioned by Grand Duke Cosimo I de' Medici, it is located on the ceiling of the dome of the cathedral. It was the subject of an extensive restoration undertaken between 1989 and 1994. History As the dome of the Florence Cathedral, Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence approached completion there were number of suggestions as to how to decorate its ceiling. Wycliffe (TV Series)
''Wycliffe'' is a British television series based on W. J. Burley's novels about Detective Superintendent Charles Wycliffe. It was produced by HTV and broadcast on the ITV Network, after a pilot episode on 7 August 1993, between 24 July 1994 and 5 July 1998. The series was filmed in Cornwall, with a production office in Truro. Music for the series was composed by Nigel Hess, who was nominated for the Royal Television Society award for the best original television theme in 1997. Charles Wycliffe, played by Jack Shepherd, is assisted by DI Doug Kersey ( Jimmy Yuill) and DI Lucy Lane ( Helen Masters). Each episode deals with a murder investigation. Louis Spohr (, 5 April 178422 October 1859), baptized Ludewig Spohr, later often in the modern German form of the name Ludwig was a German composer, violinist and conductor. Naji Subhy Paul Irénée Hakim (Arabic: ''ناجي صبحي حكيم'' 'Naji Sobhi Hakim'' born 31 October 1955) is a Franco-Lebanese organist, composer, and improviser. He studied the organ under Jean Langlais at the Conservatoire de Paris, and succeeded Olivier Messiaen as titular organist at the Église de la Sainte-Trinité, Paris, holding this position from 1993 to 2008. Before this, he was titular organist at the Sacré-Cœur basilica in the same city from 1985 to 1993, succeeding Daniel Roth. Hakim's numerous improvisations and compositions for organ, orchestra, and other instruments have received renown. ''The Last Judgement'' is a triptych of oil paintings by the British artist John Martin, created in 1851–1853. The work comprises three separate paintings on a theme of the end of the world, inspired by the Book of Revelation. The paintings, ''The Plains of Heaven'', ''The Last Judgement'', and ''The Great Day of His Wrath'', are generally considered to be among Martin's most important works, and have been described by some art critics as his masterpiece. ''A Vision of the Last Judgement'' is a painting by William Blake that was designed in 1808 before becoming a lost artwork. The painting was to be shown in an 1810 exhibition with a detailed analysis added to a second edition of his '' Descriptive Catalogue''. This plan was dropped after the exhibition was cancelled, and the painting disappeared. Blake's notes for the ''Descriptive Catalogue'' describe various aspects of the work in a detailed manner, which allow the aspects of the painting to be known. ''The Last Judgment'' also known as ''The Second Coming'' is an egg tempera painting by Francheskos Kavertzas. His artistic period was during the first half of the 17th century. Seven of his works survived, five were signed. He was a member of the late Cretan school. ''The Last Judgment'' painted by Georgios Klontzas inspired countless Cretan artists, Kavertzas was one of them. Kavertzas's painting '' In You Rejoiceth'' strongly resembles Klontzas's '' In Thee Rejoiceth''. Leos Moskos was also inspired by Klontzas's work. ''The Great Last Judgement'' is an oil on canvas altarpiece, painted by the Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens between 1614 and 1617. He created the composition and final touches and his is the only signature on the work, though it is believed between nine and nineteen studio assistants also worked on it. Its name distinguishes it from the same artist's '' The Small Last Judgement'' of 1619 and his '' The Fall of the Damned'' of 1620.
