Lassi
Lassi () is a Dahi (curd), yogurt–based beverage with a smoothie-like consistency. It has been called "the most popular and traditional yogurt-based drink" in India. It has also been described as the form in which yogurt "is most cherished and unbeatably popular in [...] Punjab", its "best-loved summer drink", and "the air conditioner of the Punjab". Lassi originated in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. The word 'lassi' means yogurt mixed with water in Punjabi language, Punjabi and Hindustani language, Hindi-Urdu. Lassi is prepared by blending yogurt, water, and spices. In Punjab, the yogurt is traditionally made from Water buffalo#Dairy, water buffalo milk. However, variations of lassi can be prepared in different ways. Cumin and cardamom are the most common spices added to lassi. Lassi is traditionally served in a clay cup known as ''kulhar''. Lassi, Kefalonia
Argostoli (, Katharevousa: ) is a town and a municipality on the island of Kefalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2019 local government reform it is one of the three municipalities on the island. It has been the capital and administrative centre of Kefalonia since 1757, following a population shift down from the old capital of Agios Georgios, also known as Kastro, to take advantage of the trading opportunities provided by the sheltered bay upon which Argostoli sits. Argostoli developed into one of the busiest ports in Greece, leading to prosperity and growth. Lassi People
The Lasis () are a Sindhi ethnic community or group of Sindhi tribes in Balochistan, Pakistan. They form 4.56% of the total population of the province as of 2017, and are the predominant group in the lowlands of former princely state of Lasbela. Now divided into two districts of Balochistan i.e. Lasbela and Hub, some area is in Gwadar district called Ormara. Lasis are also called as Jamote, a term used in Kalat and Kachhi regions, They occupy a high social position and have traditionally been engaged as agricultural landlords. They speak the Lasi dialect of Sindhi Language. Although social stratification is found in individual tribes, there is no social hierarchy or rigid tribal structure. The Lasis are assumed to be related to Jats. Lassi Dialect
Lasi, or Lassi, also called Kohistani () is a dialect of the Sindhi language spoken on the western frontier of Sindh and Balochistan in Pakistan. It is spoken by the Sindhi Lasi people of Lasbela, Hub and Gwadar in Balochistan, and Lasi is also spoken in the Kohistan region of Karachi, Thatta and Jamshoro districts of Sindh. Loanwords Lasi is known to use loanwords from other languages, primarily from Persian as well as Balochi. Orthography Lasi uses the same orthography as Sindhi except an extra letter, ۏ, which has been added to the Balochi Standard Alphabet. Mehrullah Lassi
Mehrullah Lassi (born November 24, 1979, Karachi, Sindh) is a Pakistani former amateur boxer best known for winning a gold medal at the 2002 Asian Games. Career Mehrullah Lassi joined the Karachi Port Trust boxing club in 1995. He won a gold medal at 2022 Asian Games in the featherweight division. Lassi qualified for the Athens Games by placing first at the 1st AIBA Asian 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Guangzhou, China. In the final, he defeated China's Liu Yuan. At the Olympics, he tried his hand at a lower division, bantam category, but lost his first bout against superstar and two-time winner Guillermo Rigondeaux. After that, he reverted to fighting in the featherweight division. In 2005, he fought Olympic silver medalist Kim Song-Guk but the match ended in a draw.
