Brent Eleigh Woods
Brent Eleigh Woods is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-east of Lavenham in Suffolk, England. This site consists of three separate areas, Spragg's, Langley and Camps Woods. They are ancient woodland on calcareous clay soils. The main trees are Quercus robur, oak and Fraxinus excelsior, ash, and there are ponds and a stream. Langleywood School
The Langley Academy is an academy in Langley, east of Slough in Berkshire, south east England. It opened in September 2008, replacing the former Langleywood Secondary School. The building was designed by Foster and Partners, led by the architect Norman Foster and by Buro Happold. The school is supported by the Arbib Foundation. It has a specialism of science and a museum education theme, including exhibits in the school building. It also promotes sport, notably cricket and rowing. History Langley Wood Secondary School was created in 1982 on the site of the former Langley Secondary Modern School following a merger with the former Homewood Secondary Modern School. As of 2005 Langley wood had about 800 pupils. From 2003 to 2005, Langley wood was in Ofsted 'special measures', but this period was successfully completed in November 2005. Langley Vale Wood
Langley Vale Wood is one of four First World War Centenary woods created by the Woodland Trust. It is located in Langley Vale, near Epsom, on the North Downs. It consists of 641 acres, including some ancient woodland (120 acres) and open downland. Access is by public right of way and there is a charging car park at the site. Parts of the site near Walton-on-the-Hill and Tadworth were used for army training during the First World War and 8,000 troops were billeted here at Tadworth Camp. Nearby Round Wood was used for gas training. Not far away was Woodcote Park Convalescent Camp. The site was purchased by the Woodland Trust in 2014 and they have since planted about 180,000 trees. Langley Vale Wood was formally opened on 24 June 2015 by HRH the Princess Royal.
