Land's End (TV Series)
''Land's End'' is an American crime drama series that aired in broadcast syndication from September 1995 to May 1996. A total of 22 one-hour episodes were produced. The series was created by the series' star Fred Dryer and Victor A. Schiro. Premise The series focuses on Mike Land (Dryer), a former LAPD cop who left the force after a case he worked on for months resulted in the acquittal of a drug lord. Mike then moved to Cabo San Lucas to work as a private investigator for his friend Willis P. Dunleevy, and to serve as director of security for the Westin Regina Resort. Crime Drama
Crime film is a film belonging to the crime fiction genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and fiction. Stylistically, the genre may overlap and combine with many other genres, such as Drama (film and television), drama or gangster film, but also include Comedy film, comedy, and, in turn, is divided into many sub-genres, such as Mystery film, mystery, suspense or Film noir, noir. Screenwriter and scholar Eric R. Williams identified crime film as one of eleven super-genres in his Screenwriters Taxonomy, claiming that all feature-length narrative films can be classified by these super-genres. The other ten super-genres are action, fantasy, horror, romance, science fiction, slice of life, sports, thriller, war and western. Williams identifies drama in a broader category called "film type", mystery and suspense as "macro-genres", and film noir as a "screenwriter's pathway" explaining that these categories are additive rather than exclusionary. Tim Thomerson
Joseph Timothy Thomerson (born April 8, 1946) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Jack Deth in the '' Trancers'' film series, his work in numerous low-budget features, and his comedic television roles. He appeared in the films ''Uncommon Valor'', '' Air America'', ''Volunteers'', '' Who's Harry Crumb?'', ''Iron Eagle'', and ''Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas''. Geoffrey Bond Lewis (July 31, 1935 – April 7, 2015) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 200 films and television shows, and was principally known for his film roles alongside Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford. He often portrayed villains or eccentric characters. Life and career Lewis was born July 31, 1935, in Plainfield, New Jersey, but spent much of his youth in Wrightwood, California. He studied theater arts at San Bernardino Valley College for two years, then worked as a truck driver and at other odd jobs before launching his career as an actor. Fred Dryer
John Frederick Dryer (born July 6, 1946) is an American actor, radio host, and former professional football player. He was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 years, participating in 176 games starting in 1969 until his retirement in 1981. He recorded 103 career sacks with the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams. He is the only NFL player to score two safeties in one game. Following his retirement from football, Dryer had a successful career as a film and television actor, notably starring in the NBC television series '' Hunter'', with his height of and physique proving useful for action roles.
