Lalgudi Rajalakshmi
Lalgudi Rajalakshmi is a violinist in the Indian classical Carnatic style of music. She performs the violin in the Lalgudi tradition. Early life and training Lalgudi Rajalakshmi hails from a family of musicians. Her siblings are veena maestro Padmavathi Ananthagopalan, and violinists Lalgudi Jayaraman and Srimathi Brahmanandam. Her initial training was with her father, Lalgudi Gopala Iyer. She also learnt later from her elder brother, Lalgudi Jayaraman. Performance Lalgudi Rajalakshmi started performing at the age of 10. Since that time, she has had both solo performances and performed as an accompanist to several artistes including Aruna Sairam, D.K. Pattammal, Mandolin Srinivas, Mani Krishnaswami, M.L. Carnatic Music
Carnatic music (known as or in the Dravidian languages) is a system of music commonly associated with South India, including the modern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and southern Odisha. It is one of three main subgenres of Indian classical music that evolved from ancient Hindu texts and traditions, particularly the Samaveda. (The other two are Hindustani music and Odissi music.) The main emphasis in Carnatic music is on vocal music; most compositions are written to be sung, and even when played on instruments, they are meant to be performed in ''gāyaki'' (singing) style. Jayanthi Kumaresh
Jayanthi Kumaresh (born 1969) is an Indian classical musician best known for her mastery of the Saraswati veena. With a performing career of more than forty years, she has given concerts throughout India and abroad, recorded widely, and engaged in research and outreach dedicated to the instrument. Jayanthi holds a postgraduate degree in English literature and a doctorate from the University of Mysore for her analytical study of veena playing styles. Abhishek Raghuram
Abhishek Raghuram (born 1985) is an Indian carnatic music, carnatic vocalist. Life Abhishek was born into a family of notable musicians. He is the grandson of mridangam maestro Palghat R. Raghu. His mother Usha is the niece of violin maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman. Veena exponent Jayanthi Kumaresh is his mother's sister. Mridangam exponent Anantha R Krishnan, another grandson of Palghat R Raghu, is his cousin. Ghazal and playback singer Hariharan (singer) is a relative on his father's side. Abhishek started out as a mridangam player under the tutelage of his grandfather Palghat R Raghu but later, on his grandmother's insistence, he went for vocal training.
