Laksa (other)
Laksa is a spicy noodle soup popular in the Peranakan cuisine of Southeast Asia. Katong Laksa is a variant of laksa lemak inspired by the Straits Chinese who live in the precinct of Katong in Singapore. The herb ''Persicaria odorata'' is sometimes known as "laksa leaf", for its use in some variations of the noodle soup. Laksa ( Jawi: ; Chinese: 叻沙) is a spicy noodle dish popular in Southeast Asia. Laksa consists of various types of noodles, most commonly thick rice noodles, with toppings such as chicken, prawns or fish. Most variations of laksa are prepared with a rich and spicy coconut curry soup or a broth seasoned with a souring ingredient like tamarind or . Originating from Peranakan Chinese cuisine, laksa recipes are commonly served in Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. ''Persicaria odorata'', with common names Vietnamese coriander, rau răm (from Vietnamese), laksa leaf (calque from Malay ''daun laksa''), Vietnamese cilantro, phak phai (from Thai: ผักแพว), praew leaf, hot mint, Cambodian mint and Vietnamese mint, is an herb whose leaves are used in Southeast Asian and Northeast Indian cooking. But despite its other name, Vietnamese coriander is unrelated to the mints, nor is it in the mint family Lamiaceae, but its general appearance and fragrance are reminiscent of them. It is also not closely related to coriander (family Apiaceae). ''Persicaria'' is in the family Polygonaceae, collectively known as "smartweeds" or "pinkweeds". Kitija Laksa
Kitija Laksa (born 21 May 1996) is a Latvian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA. She previously played for Fenerbahçe of the Women's Basketball Super League, EuroLeague Women and the Latvian national team. Laksa played for the American collegiate team South Florida Bulls. She suffered a knee injury in November 2018 and missed the rest of her senior season. Instead of returning for a fifth year, Laksa signed with Latvian professional team TTT Riga in July 2019. Laksa was drafted in the first round, 11th overall, by the Seattle Storm in the 2020 WNBA draft. She signed a contract with the Storm on 25 April 2020, but did not play at all during the 2020 season and she was waived by the team on 13 May 2021. Mārtiņš Laksa (born 26 June 1990) is a professional Latvian basketball player for GTK Gliwice of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). Professional career Laksa started his career with ASK Rīga junior squad. In August 2009 Laksa tried out for Spanish club Bilbao Basket. Starting from 2009-2010 season Laksa played for VEF Rīga, where he spent three years. After playing in Riga Laksa made a move to BK Ventspils. Lakså, Fauske
or is a small village in Fauske Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village has no permanent residents anymore due to its lack of a road connection. Many of the existing homes in the village are now used as holiday cottages. It is located in a valley on the north shore of the lake Øvervatnet (), about east of the town of Fauske. There were two farms in the valley: Lakså on the shore of Lakså Bay () and Nordal (or Norddal) somewhat further up the valley. History The Lakså farm was first mentioned in the rent-roll and census of 1665–1666, where it is referred to as ''Laxaaen Øegaard''.
