La Musique Populaire
La Musique Populaire is an American indie pop band, made of up members Ryan Bassler and Eric Haugen. The band was originally a quartet, Lorenzo Music in 1992, which grew into a 22 member pop orchestra, called the ''Lorenzo Music Philharmonic''. Faced with legal action from the actor of the same name, the name changed it to La Musique Populaire before the release of their debut EP, ''Auntie Canada'' in 1996. As part of the American indie pop scene of the 1990s, they are defined by their eclectic sound, like contemporaries Ween and The Magnetic Fields. ''Aquarius'' is an EP by Boards of Canada, released on 5 January 1998. It is one of the shortest releases by Boards of Canada, barely breaking the 13-minute mark. The track "Chinook" is a longer version of one that appeared on ''Boc Maxima'', a publicly unreleased predecessor to ''Music Has the Right to Children''. "Aquarius" was the only single produced for the record. Composition The track contains a sample of "Aquarius" by Ren Woods as featured in the film version of ''Hair''. The version of "Aquarius" on this EP is a different version than the one featured on ''Music Has the Right to Children''. Starship (band)
Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. Initially a continuation of Jefferson Starship, it underwent a change in musical direction, the subsequent loss of personnel, and a lawsuit settlement that led to a name change. Starship's 1985 album, '' Knee Deep in the Hoopla'', was certified platinum by the RIAA, and included two singles that went to number one on the US '' Billboard'' Hot 100 chart: " We Built This City" and " Sara". "We Built This City" is the debut single by American rock band Starship, from their 1985 debut album '' Knee Deep in the Hoopla''. Squeeze (band)
Squeeze are an English Rock music, rock band that came to prominence in the United Kingdom during the New wave music, new wave period of the late 1970s, and continued recording in the 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. In the UK, their singles "Cool for Cats (song), Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction (song), Up the Junction", and "Labelled with Love" were top-ten chart hits. The Rock-afire Explosion
The Rock-afire Explosion (RAE) is an animatronic character band designed and manufactured by Creative Engineering, Inc. (CEI) for use in ShowBiz Pizza Place restaurants in the 1980s and early 1990s. The band's characters are various Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphized animals, including a brown bear, a Gray wolf, grey wolf and a Gorilla, silverback gorilla. They perform medleys of classic rock, Pop music, pop, and country music, as well as original compositions and comedic skits. CEI was founded by inventor Aaron Fechter, who oversaw production of the animatronics and provided several of the characters' voices. The band was replaced by Chuck E. Cheese characters and renamed Munch's Make Believe Band following ShowBiz Pizza's decision to rebrand in the early 1990s.
