Lex (software)
Lex is a computer program that generates lexical analyzers ("scanners" or "lexers"). It is commonly used with the yacc parser generator and is the standard lexical analyzer generator on many Unix and Unix-like systems. An equivalent tool is specified as part of the POSIX standard. Lex reads an input stream specifying the lexical analyzer and writes source code which implements the lexical analyzer in the C programming language. In addition to C, some old versions of Lex could generate a lexer in Ratfor. History Lex was originally written by Mike Lesk and Eric Schmidt and described in 1975. In the following years, Lex became the standard lexical analyzer generator on many Unix and Unix-like systems. In 1983, Lex was one of several UNIX tools available for Charles River Data Systems' UNOS operating system under Bell Laboratories license. is a ''URN namespace'', a type of Uniform Resource Name (URN), that allows accurate identification of laws and other legal norms. LexML Brazil and Italy (Civil law countries) officially recognize the ''URN LEX standard draft''. Brazil using LEX URNs since 2009, as a ''namespace'' for sources of law. Amazon Lex is a service for building conversational interfaces into any application using voice and text. It powers the Amazon Alexa virtual assistant (artificial intelligence), virtual assistant. In April 2017, the platform was released to the developer community, and suggested that it could be used for conversational interfaces (chatbots or otherwise) including Web, mobile apps, robots, toys, drones, and more. Amazon already had launched Alexa Voice Service, Alexa Voice Services, which developers can use to integrate Alexa into their own devices, like smart speakers, alarm clocks, etc.; however, Lex will not require that end users interact with the Alexa assistant per se, but rather any type of assistant or interface. Continuing the experimental electronic music stylings and East and West relationship ideas of their previous work '' Reassemblage'' (2017), the album takes place in a future utopian world with aliens talking in a hybrid of several languages to the point of speaking a "non-language." The speech sounds on the album were made by Doran feeding dialects and accents to the language translation program Infovox Voice Manager.
