Leisure (band)
Leisure (stylized as LEISURE) are a New Zealand electronic music project from Auckland, formed in Muriwai in 2015. The group's current lineup consists of Djeisan Suskov, Jaden Parkes, Josh Fountain, Tom Young, Jordan Arts and Paul Roper, all established musicians and producers who have performed in the Auckland's music scene since the early 2000s. They are currently signed to Nettwerk Records and to date, have self-produced and released four studio albums: ''Leisure'' (2016), ''Twister'' (2019), ''Sunsetter'' (2021) and their fourth and most recent, ''Leisurevision'' on 29 September 2023 Background Each member of the group, individually established themselves in New Zealand's music industry during the early 2000s, performing in their respective bands or projects. Djeisan Suskov
Cool Rainbows was a psychedelic indie pop band based in Auckland, New Zealand. According to a review, "Cool Rainbows make psychedelic indie pop music that is backed by swirling orchestration and layered dreamscapes of sound." They released their debut album, ''Whale Rocket,'' in 2012 on Lil' Chief Records. History Founding Cool Rainbows was founded as a musical collective and solo project of Djeisan (pronounced "Jason") Suskov, a New Zealand musician. Other members of the collective include Paul Roper, Alex Freer, Cass Mitchell, Jonathan Pearce and Suskov's wife Emily Suskov. The Official Aotearoa Music Charts, formerly the Official New Zealand Music Chart (), is the weekly New Zealand top 40 singles and albums charts, issued weekly by Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand). "My House" is the first single from electropop band Kids of 88. It was released on 20 April 2009. The song was on the New Zealand Singles Chart for 17 weeks in 2009, peaking at #3. History When the New Zealand music television channel C4 (TV channel), C4 used "My House" on one of its advertising campaigns, the song quickly became very popular in New Zealand, and peaked at #3 on the New Zealand Top 40 singles chart in June 2009. Sam McCarthy (singer)
Sam McCarthy is a New Zealand songwriter and pop vocalist. He is best known for his work in Kids of 88 and Goodnight Nurse. Early life McCarthy was brought up in Auckland in the suburb of Weymouth. He was educated at Weymouth Primary School and St Peter's College. He and Jordan Arts met at St Peter's and quickly realised that they were on the same wavelength. They were in the same English class. McCarthy has said: "As an icebreaking exercise we were told to bring in our favourite song. Always and Never is the debut album by New Zealand pop punk band, Goodnight Nurse, released in January 2006. Pop-punk (also punk-pop, alternatively spelled without the hyphen) is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop music, pop.
