L'Instant Durable
L’Instant Durable is a French publishing and distribution company created in 1983 by Alain de Bussac. It is based in Clermont-Ferrand (France). History Result of a meeting between Paul de Boever, architect, and Alain de Bussac who was working in the graphic arts and industries, the publishing house L’Instant Durable continues in part the tradition of the construction of architectural models in paper from printed sheets introduced by the Imagerie d’Épinal in the 19th century. L’Instant Durable has created the concept of the livre-maquette (model-book) : the printed sheets to cut out are assembled in a book which includes an historic text on the monument to build. It is always translated into several languages. The authors are qualified architects and artists who use the latest reproduction techniques. Jacques Martin (comics)
Jacques Martin (25 September 1921 – 21 January 2010) was a French comics artist and comic book creator. He was one of the classic artists of '' Tintin'' magazine, alongside Edgar P. Jacobs and Hergé, of whom he was a longtime collaborator. He is best known for his series '' Alix''. He was born in Strasbourg. Biography After pursuing engineering studies as a young man, Jacques Martin began in 1942 to draw his first comic stories. In 1946, following the end of the War, he travelled through Belgium in search of an editor for his work. Soon afterwards he met Georges Remi (aka Hergé) with whom he collaborated on several albums of ''The Adventures of Tintin'' (and more specifically on ''Tintin in Tibet'' and ''The Red Sea Sharks'') while working on his own albums. It was from Hergé that he learned of the ligne claire style and, under Hergé's guidance, began to use it in his own work. François Taillandier
François Taillandier (born in 1955, Clermont-Ferrand, France) is a French writer portraying the French contemporary society. Life Henri Vernes, creator of Bob Morane, fired a passion the 12-year-old Taillandier was not going to give up. In 1968 he began to read Honoré de Balzac. This classic French writer and Edmond Rostand, Cyrano's father, had a strong influence on him. Attending classical literature studies in the university, he graduated in 1977 with a memoir about the Marquis de Sade. In 1979 he taught literature for 4 years before resigning from his position to become a full-time writer. In 1984 he became journalist for the Revue Hebdo. Taillandier finds the inspiration walking in Paris, listening conversations while in the bistros. In 2006 he was appointed president of the Société des gens de lettres.
