Kerrang! Radio is a British specialist rock music radio station related to ''Kerrang!'' magazine, broadcast nationally on DAB and online. Launched in 2002, it is owned and operated by Bauer Media and forms part of the Kerrang! Network, which also includes the heavy metal-focused Kerrang! Rock Unleashed and classic rock-focused Klassic Kerrang! Radio. As of March 2025, the station has a weekly audience of 445,000 listeners according to RAJAR. Hits Radio is a network of 26 contemporary hit radio stations in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Bauer Media Audio UK. The network launched in 2018 with the rebranding of Bauer's Manchester station Key 103 and its merger with The Hits, and since then various other local stations have been rebranded under the Hits Radio banner. Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is a digital radio standard for broadcasting digital audio radio services in many countries around the world, defined, supported, marketed and promoted by the WorldDAB organisation. Kerrang! TV was a British music television channel owned by Channel Four Television Corporation. The network used the branding of the music magazine ''Kerrang!'' under a brand licensing agreement with Bauer Media Group. The channel primarily broadcast music videos without set scheduling to allow text requests for their playlists. Background The first broadcast of Kerrang! TV had a countdown of voters' most-desired videos. The most popular choice and the first video shown on Kerrang! TV was Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Smash Hits Radio was a UK-based digital radio station owned and operated by Bauer Radio based in Manchester. It was available throughout the UK on Freeview channel 712. The format was based on the now defunct Smash Hits Magazine. It was a Contemporary hit radio format.
