Kørsel Med Grønlandske Hunde
''Driving with Greenland Dogs'' (), is a Denmark, Danish silent film made in 1897 by the photographer Peter Elfelt. It was the first movie sequence filmed in Denmark. The film, less than one minute in length (10 meters of 35mm film), shows a Danish colony manager named Johan Carl Joensen driving a sledge pulled by Greenlandic sled dogs through Fælledparken, Fælledparken in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the short sequence, the dog sled is driven toward the camera across a flat snow-covered landscape, it disappears out of the picture, and then reappears from the other side with the driver chasing behind. Elfelt shot the film using a camera he had constructed from detailed plans that Elfelt obtained from the French inventor, Jules Carpentier. Peter Elfelt
Peter Elfelt (1 January 1866 – 18 February 1931) was a Danish photographer and film director known as the first movie pioneer in Denmark when he began making documentary films in 1897. Biography Peter Elfelt was born Peter Lars Petersen in Denmark on 1 January 1866. (He changed his name to Elfelt when he began making films.) He apprenticed in photography in Hillerød in 1893 with the photographer Carl Rathsack. He also studied with the camera builder Jens Poul Andersen. In 1893, Elfelt opened his own atelier in Copenhagen with his two brothers as his assistants. As his photographic skills became appreciated, his business flourished and by 1901 Elfelt was named "Kongelige Hoffotograf" (Royal Court Photographer). During a trip to Paris in 1896, Elfelt obtained a set of detailed ''Cinematographe'' plans from the French inventor Jules Carpentier. He had a film camera constructed by Jens Poul Andersen. Fælledparken
The park Fælledparken in Copenhagen, Denmark, was created 1906–1914 by landscape architect Edvard Glæsel in cooperation with the Copenhagen Municipality on the commons (Danish: ''fælled'') previously named ''Nørrefælled'' and ''Østerfælled''. Fælledparken is located in the eastern part of Copenhagen called Østerbro. Jules Carpentier
Jules Carpentier (30 August 1851 – 30 June 1921) was a French engineer and inventor. Jules Carpentier was a student at the French École polytechnique. He bought the Ruhmkorff workshops in Paris when Heinrich Daniel Ruhmkorff died and made it a successful business for building electrical and magnetical devices. From 1890, he started to build photographic and cinematographic cameras. He is the designer of the submarine periscope, and worked at the adjustment of trichromic process of colour photography. He patented the " Cinématographe", which serves as a film projector and developer in the late 1890s, and built devices from the Lumière Brothers. Another of his patents, filed in England, was a primary reference of Theodor Scheimpflug, who disclaimed inventing the falsely eponymous Scheimpflug principle.
