Kundasang
Kundasang is a hill station and town in the district of Ranau District, Ranau in Sabah, Malaysia that lies along the bank of Kundasang Valley within the Crocker Range, which neighbours Pekan Nabalu in nearby Kota Belud District, Kota Belud district. It is located about 6 kilometres away from Kinabalu National Park, 15.6 kilometres from Ranau town centre proper and is renowned for its vegetable market which is open seven days a week. It is the closest town to Mount Kinabalu and has a panoramic view of the mountain. Joachim Gunsalam
Joachim Gunsalam (born 22 January 1958) is a Malaysian politician and physician who has served as the Deputy Chief Minister II and State Minister of Housing and Local Government of Sabah in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state administration under Chief Minister Hajiji Noor since January 2023 as well as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kundasang since March 2004. He is a member of the United Sabah Party (PBS), a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions. He has served as the Acting President of PBS since June 2024 and Deputy President of PBS for the Non-Muslim Bumiputera quota since June 2022. The Ranau District () is an administrative district in the Malaysian state of Sabah, part of the West Coast Division which includes the districts of Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Penampang, Putatan, Ranau and Tuaran. Kundasang Valley () is a valley where the Kundasang town is located in Sabah, Malaysia, primarily in the highlands of Sabah southeast side of Mount Kinabalu. Pekan Nabalu
Nabalu () or known as Nabalu Town is a small town located near the foothills of Mount Kinabalu within the Kota Belud District along its tripoint border with Tuaran as well as Ranau districts in Sabah, Malaysia. Dusun People
Dusun is the collective name of an indigenous ethnic group to the Malaysian state of Sabah of North Borneo. Collectively, they form the largest ethnic group in Sabah. The Dusun people have been internationally recognised as indigenous to Borneo since 2004 as per the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Other similarly named, but unrelated groups are also found in Brunei and Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The Dusun in Brunei have distinct traditional beliefs and customs compared to those in Sabah.
