KUPS
Kuopion Palloseura, commonly referred to as KuPS, is a Finnish professional football club based in Kuopio. KuPS competes in Veikkausliiga, the top flight of Finnish football. The team plays its home matches at Kuopio Football Stadium. KuPS has won the Finnish championship title seven times, the Finnish Cup five times and the Finnish League Cup once. The club is placed fourth in the all-time Finnish Premier League honor table. History The club was officially founded on 16 March 1923, at Kuopion Seurahuone. The club was named Kuopion Palloseura ("Kuopio Football Club") with an abbreviation of KPS, which was later changed to KuPS. Jani Honkavaara
Jani Honkavaara (born 2 February 1976), is a Finnish professional football manager and former player, who is currently the manager of Swedish Allsvenskan club Djurgården. Nicknamed "Super-Honsu", he lead Veikkausliiga club KuPS to two Finnish championship titles in two separate stints as manager, in 2019 and 2024. Playing career Honkavaara began his football career in his hometown club TP-Seinäjoki (formerly known as Törnävän Pallo-55). During his time with the club, he played 10 matches in the Finnish top tier Veikkausliiga in the 1997 season. While studying in Joensuu, Honkavaara played for local clubs and Jippo in the third-tier Kakkonen, in 2000 and 2002 respectively. 1967–68 European Cup
The 1967–68 European Cup was the 13th European Cup, UEFA's premier club football tournament. The competition was won by Manchester United, who beat Benfica 4–1 in the final at Wembley Stadium, London. The European Cup title marked the tenth year since the Munich air disaster, in which eight United players were killed and their manager, Matt Busby, was left close to death, the day after earning a place in the semi-finals of the 1957–58 competition. It was also the first time an English side had won the trophy. The away goals rule (which had already been used in the Cup Winners' Cup and the Fairs' Cup) was introduced if aggregate scores were level after two legs, but only for the first round of the competition. 1959–60 European Cup
The 1959–60 European Cup was the fifth season of the European Cup, Europe's premier club football tournament. The competition was won by Real Madrid, who beat Eintracht Frankfurt 7–3 in the final at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on 18 May 1960, thanks to first ever hat-tricks scored in the final of the competition by Ferenc Puskás and Alfredo Di Stéfano.
