Kristianstad Municipality
Kristianstad Municipality () is a municipality in SkÃ¥ne County in southernmost Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Kristianstad. The present municipality was created in three steps during the last nationwide local government reform, and it has the largest area of the municipalities of SkÃ¥ne County. In 1967 a number of rural municipalities were merged into the ''City of Kristianstad''. In 1971 more former units were added and the city became a unitary municipality. Finally in 1974, the last amalgamations took place, and the municipality reached its present size. The number of original entities (as of 1863) is 35. Bäckaskog
Bäckaskog is a locality situated in Kristianstad Municipality, SkÃ¥ne County, Sweden, between Ivö Lake and Oppmanna Lake, with a population of 293 inhabitants in 2010. The village has developed around the castle and the Premonstratensian monastery. The monastery was constructed in the early 14th century and after the destruction of the monastery in Vä, the monks from there wer relocated to Bäckaskog. With the Danish Reformation, the monastery was converted into a castle and granted to Danish nobles of the families of Ulfstand, Brahe, Bille, Parsberg and eventually the Scanian family of . The castle also came into the possession of Swedish King Charles XV and Danish Crown Prince Fredrik between 1885 and 1900. Yngsjö is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality situated in Kristianstad Municipality, SkÃ¥ne County, Sweden with 302 inhabitants in 2010. Yngsjö is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea and is famous for its beaches.
