Krazy's Waterloo
''Krazy's Waterloo'' is a 1934 short theatrical cartoon by Columbia Pictures, and one of the many films featuring Krazy Kat. The film is loosely based on the times of French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. It is also perhaps the only film where Krazy is cast as someone other than himself. Plot The cartoon starts with Napoleon (Krazy Kat) looking at a portrait of his human counterpart. After adding numerous countries to his empire as result of winning battles, he then sets sights on Russia. Just before leaving and going there, Napoleon engages in a warm farewell meeting with his wife Josephine who is also a cat. When the feline emperor and his handful of soldiers march in the street, bystanders cheer for him. After a long walk, Napoleon and his men set foot on a snowy terrain of Russia. The local militia immediately notices his approach, and therefore start hurling round bombs, prompting Napoleon's battalion to enter a bunker. Manny Gould
Emanuel Gould (May 30, 1904 – July 19, 1975) was an American animated cartoonist from the 1920s to the 1970s, best known for his contributions as a director, writer and animator for Screen Gems, and solely an animator for Warner Bros. Cartoons and DePatie–Freleng Enterprises. Career Manny Gould began his career as a teenager working for several New York-based animation studios. He would later partner with Ben Harrison to form the short lived Harrison-Gould studios. Both later moved to Winkler Pictures to work on the ''Krazy Kat'' cartoon series as animators, writers and directors. After Charles Mintz took over Winkler Pictures, the studio was moved to Los Angeles in 1931 to develop The Charles Mintz Studio (later renamed Screen Gems) after establishing a partnership with Columbia Pictures. Charles Bear Mintz (November 5, 1889 – December 30, 1939)''Social Security Death Index, 1935–2014''. Social Security Administration. was an American film producer and distributor who assumed control over Margaret J. Winkler's Winkler Pictures after marrying her in 1924. The couple had two children, Katherine and William. Between 1925 and 1939, Mintz produced over 370 cartoon shorts. Career Charles Mintz was unhappy with the production costs on Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks's ''Alice Comedies'', and asked the two to develop a new character. The result was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the first animated character for Universal Pictures.
