Korinna
Korinna is a serif typeface, first released by the H. Berthold AG type foundry in 1904. A revival of the typeface was designed in 1974 by Ed Benguiat and Vic Caruso for the International Typeface Corporation (ITC). Their version follows the formulary ITC approach of increased x-height, and multiple weights from light to ultra. The face is named for the ancient Greek poet. Notable uses Korinna is known for its usage in television. It is perhaps best known as the display font for clues on the 1984 version of ''Jeopardy!''. It was also used on ABC's ''Good Morning America'' from 1986 to 1988, as the chapter placard typeface for the television series ''Frasier'', ''Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine'', TNN's ''New Country'', and ''Mork and Mindy'', ''The Joy of Painting'' public television series from 1986 to 1989, and for Paramount Home Video's FBI warning from 1989 to 1995. Corinna
Corinna or Korinna ( grc, Κόριννα, Korinna) was an ancient Greek lyric poet from Tanagra in Boeotia. Although ancient sources portray her as a contemporary of Pindar (born ), not all modern scholars accept the accuracy of this tradition. When she lived has been the subject of much debate since the early twentieth century, proposed dates ranging from the beginning of the fifth century to the late third century BC. Corinna's works survive only in fragments: three substantial sections of poems are preserved on second-century AD papyri from Egypt; several shorter pieces survive in quotations by ancient grammarians. They focus on local Boeotian legends, and are distinctive for their mythological innovations. Corinna's poetry often reworks well-known myths to include details not known from any other sources. Ephram Edward Benguiat (; October 27, 1927October 15, 2020) was an American type designer and lettering artist. He designed over 600 typefaces, including Tiffany, Bookman, Panache, Souvenir, Edwardian Script, and the eponymous Benguiat and Benguiat Gothic. He was also known for his designs or redesigns of the logotypes for ''Esquire'', ''The New York Times'', ''Playboy'', '' McCall’s'', ''Reader’s Digest'', ''Photography'', '' Look'', ''Sports Illustrated'', ''The Star-Ledger'', '' The San Diego Tribune'', AT&T, A&E, Coke, Estée Lauder, Ford, and others. International Typeface Corporation
The International Typeface Corporation (ITC) was a type manufacturer founded in New York in 1970 by Aaron Burns, Herb Lubalin and Edward Rondthaler. The company was one of the world's first type foundries to have no history in the production of metal type. It is now a wholly owned brand or subsidiary of Monotype Imaging. History The company was founded to design, license and market typefaces for filmsetting and computer set types internationally. The company issued both new designs and revivals of older or classic faces, invariably re-cut to be suitable for digital typesetting use and produced in families of different weights. Benguiat
ITC Benguiat is a decorative serif typeface designed by Ed Benguiat and released by the International Typeface Corporation (ITC) in 1977. The face is loosely based upon typefaces of the Art Nouveau period but is not considered an academic revival. The face follows ITC's design formulary of an extremely high x-height, combined with multiple widths and weights. The original version of 1977 contained numerous nonstandard ligatures (such as AB, AE, AH, AK, AR, LA, SS, TT) and alternate shapes for some letters which were not carried into the digital version. The font family consists of 3 weights at 2 widths each, with complementary italic. It is also sold as 'Formal 832' by Bitstream. ITC Benguiat Pro It is a version released in September 2008. GURPS
The ''Generic Universal RolePlaying System'', or ''GURPS'', is a tabletop role-playing game system designed to allow for play in any game setting.
